Athletics:

  • There will be a short meeting at lunch today in the gym for anyone interested in minor officiating basketball this winter. If you are unable to attend, please see Mrs. Lindsay by the end of the week.
  • All fall athletes are reminded to bring their uniforms in to the PE department as soon as possible.
  • Speedball today at lunch: Speed Demons vs The swimmers and The Squires vs Dimes
  • Congratulations to Mrs. Cheryl Tanton for receiving the Tri PEI Official of the Year Award. Her excellent work as a triathlon official earned her this prestigious award.

Meetings:

  • Attention everybody in The Red Cross Club we will be a meeting today in Mrs. Chappell’s room 202, we will be continuing making crafts and talking about the Christmas float! Hope to see you there!  
  • Free the Children is having a meeting Thursday at lunch in the Art Room 330. All are welcome to join.
  • The Debate Club will meet tomorrow after school in rm 151. New members are always welcome.

Notes:

  • Are you interested in a free transit pass with T3 Transit? You can sign up for a transit pass Thursday, November 28th, by attending a meeting at lunch in the library. This will take the entire break so please bring your lunches. If you have any questions, please see Mrs.Profit in the Library.

  • The music department will be selling fudge all week long in the main foyer, $3 a sleeve!

  • Heckberts will be in the cafeteria at lunch this Thursday to assist students with picture ordering for those wishing to have grad photos before Christmas.
  • Students who got their pictures taken on the retake day should be getting proofs in Block A this week.
    Ordering photos on line are very easy! If this is not possible for you, hard copy orders need to be returned to the school by this Friday, November 22nd.
  • Attention Colonels! Do you need help with math or science? Come to the Math and Science Help Centre in the conference room in the  Library during lunches. We will be open to all students every day.
  • Students who signed up for tutoring at the Math & Science Centre are starting their shifts from this week onward. Those who signed up for the Wednesday shift ave to be at lunch in the Conference room in the Library today.
  • It’s time for our Occupational Health and Safety Trivia question:! Today’s question is….Approximately how many youg people die each year (in the United States) due to workplace injuries?…(a) 70 (b) 40 (c) 100. Put your answer in the box in student services or dm it to @ohs_colonels on Instagram. Congratulations to Breanna Mayne for winning yesterday’s trivia question! The answer was Heavy Lifting is the #1 hazard causing injury to workers.

Student Services:

  • Mid-semester report cards will be sent home with students on today. Please keep these in a safe place and do not discard them. In the future, report cards may be required for attendance verification, immigration documentation or unofficial marks for university applications or when applying for scholarships and bursaries.

  • On Thursday, Acadia University will be visiting Student Services at lunch, and Memorial University after school.  

Teachers, today is a supervision day 2.
