Athletics:
  • All soccer practices will be canceled today due to weather and field conditions.
  • “A” practice schedule for the soccer teams with field locations for the week will be posted in the gym by the end of the day today.
  • The baseball games scheduled for this evening will also be canceled, stay tuned for rescheduled dates.
  • Field hockey team will be practicing in the cafeteria today after school. Yesterday the team lost 3-1 to Bluefield.
  • There will be weekly basketball gym times for anyone interested in playing men’s basketball this season. Tuesdays from 8-930 and Thursday mornings 7-830.
  • Last night in athletics:  Women’s volleyball won in three while men’s volleyball lost to TOSH.  Women’s soccer defeated the Mount Academy in exhibition play 5-1.
Meetings:
  • There is an important Duke of E meeting on Wednesday at lunch. Bring your lunch AND your online record book USERNAME and PASSWORD to the meeting. We will be logging important data at the meeting.
  • Interested in spreading a little school spirit? Colonel Gray’s Spirit Club will meet on Thursday at lunch in the Lecture Theatre. Come out and meet some like-minded people and have some fun! All new members are welcome!
  • Anyone interested in being one of the three school-sponsored applicants for the Loran Scholarship should attend a very important meeting in Student Services at 11:45 on Thursday. See Mr. Peterson for details.
  • There will be an open Student Council meeting today during lunch in Room 214.  Please join us to discuss & brainstorm upcoming events or to voice your opinion on school issues. Getting involved is one way you can help make our school the best it can be.
  • The Red Cross Club meeting tomorrow in room 117.
Notes:
  • Do you like rap, poetry, and performance? If so, the Mumbo Jumbo Street Slang Gang meets Wednesdays at lunch in Room 215. See Mr. B for more details!
  • There will be block meetings for peer helpers at the start of each block on Wednesday.
  • Student Council is looking for grade 10 representatives to serve on the executive.  Interested candidates can pick up an application on the student council office door, or from Mrs. Charlton in Room 214.  Applications are due by 3:10 on Thursday, October 3rd.
  • Anyone interested in learning about wildlife, forestry & nature and participate in some fun outdoor activities, join the envirothon club. The envirothon competition is coming soon. Great prizes to win and a chance to go to Nebraska for the finals. A short meeting today during lunch at 11.45 at Rm 152. For more details talk to Ms Suba or Mr Sealy.
  • Attention Grade 12 students – on Wednesday, Sept. 25th St. Thomas University will be visiting Student Services at lunch time, and University of Calgary after school.
  • The Red Cross Club will be having their bake sale today, tomorrow and Thursday in the main lobby. All proceeds go to the Terry Fox Foundation, bring some change and make a change.
  • “The City of Charlottetown is seeking eco-minded volunteers for City signature events to assist with sustainability initiatives and general hands-on event support. This is a great opportunity for students interested in helping the environment or working behind the scenes of an event. Any students that are interested in gaining registered volunteer hours to put towards the Community Service Bursary are welcome to contact Jessica Brown at Charlottetown City Hall to learn more about this opportunity.”   You can also go to student services to get the contact number.
  • One again a reminder that this Thursday at 2:30 is the Colonel Gray Terry Fox Run/Walk. It will take during block “C”. We will be having two short classes that afternoon and it is suppose to be Sunny and 20 degrees that day.
  • Today’s Terry Fox Trivia Question is: How much money has been raised for cancer research in Terry’s name?
  • Please bring your answers for all 5 questions this week to Student Services and put in the answer box. There will be a prize drawn from those who get all 5 questions right. Yesterday’s question was how old was Terry when he started the Marathon Of Hope Run? Note: Very Important Terry Fox Meeting today at 11:40 in room 139. Run stations will be assigned.
