Athletics:

  • Our “AA” women’s basketball coach is going to start running optional gym times every Monday starting today from 7-9 pm.
  • Our “AAA” men and women’s soccer teams defeated Charlottetown Rural on Friday night. The women won 2-1 and the men 4-0. Our “A” men’s soccer team also played Rural on Saturday and won 4-0.
  • Today our “AAA” soccer teams host TOSH at 5, while our men and women’s volleyball teams travel to TOSH. Bus will leave at 3:45 from the front of the school. Field Hockey hosts TOSH @ the Cornwall Turf at 5:10.

Meetings:

  • Anyone from The Making Waves Group interested in running a “Girls Group” at Queen Charlotte, meet at Student Services Tuesday at 3:10.
  • The New Environmental Club will be meeting again this week on Wednesday in room 330 at lunch, everyone is welcome to join.
  • Student Council Executive: Please attend a short meeting at the 11:40 in room 214. If you can’t make the meeting, check in with Mrs. Charlton at some point today.

Notes:

  • Are you interested in arts, science or leadership or perhaps just looking for awesome things to do? Join the Youth for Youth Club! Come visit us on Tuesday at lunch in room 139 for our first meeting. Don’t  forget to drag your friends along for all the cool opportunities! We are also ordering pizza!
  • Student Council is looking for grade 10 representatives to serve on the executive. Interested candidates can pick up an application on the student council office door, or from Mrs. Charlton in Room 214.  Applications are due by 3:10 on Thursday, October 3rd.
  • Attention Grades 10 & 11, do you want to spend a month living and learning at a University Campus next summer? The Shad Enrichment Program is an opportunity for student leaders to explore science and entrepreneurship at a host University. Learn more about this awesome opportunity at the Shad info session taking place tomorrow at lunch in room 244. Hope to see you all there!

Student Services:

  • The Workers Compensation Board is seeking two Gr. 11 or 12 students for its Occupational Health and Safety Leadership Program at our school. Students who are selected and complete all program requirements will receive $500 at the end of the school year. For more information, go the WCB website, click on the hard hat, and look for the OHS Leadership button. Applications are due October 4th, so grab a friend and apply today!

  • Attn. students looking for a way of accumulating community service bursary hours:The Charlottetown Naiads synchronized swimming club is looking for male and female volunteers to assist with its recreational program for children aged 4-12 years. Synchro experience not required but should have Bronze Medallion certification. Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, 6:00-7:00pm at the Bell Aliant Centre pool. More information is available on the Student Services Job Posting board.
  • Reminder to students interested in applying for the provincial page program, please pick up an application form in Student Service and return it by the end of the day on Tuesday.
