Athletics:

  • Women’s field hockey will be playing in the bronze medal game today at 3pm at the Cornwall turf.
  • “AAA” men’s soccer will practice today at 4 at Colonel Gray field, “AAA” women are at Co-op.
  • “A” men’s soccer travel to Montague today to play in a 1/4 final. The bus will leave at 3:35- do not be late!
  • “AAA” men and women’s volleyball play tonight at 5 & 7. We still need one scorekeeper for each of those games, please see Mrs. Lindsay if you are able to help out.
  • Please note that due to the volleyball games there is no women’s basketball tonight.

Meetings:

  • Student council has an open meeting in Room 214 every Tuesday at lunch. All are welcome.
  • Are you interested in knowing more about the Polar Expressions Writing Contest? Come to the Youth for Youth meeting tomorrow at lunch in room 139! 

Notes:

  • The Charlottetown Y’s Men’s Food Drive is being held tonight from 5:30-7:30pm. Anyone interested in volunteering to help, please meet at the teacher’s door at 5:30pm. If you can bring a car it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Items were removed from the Homecoming dance, and student council would like to have them returned to be used again next year. We are missing crowns and 2 CGHS Homecoming black sashes. Please return these items to the main office.

  • Thursday is Halloween, and it is Colonel tradition to come to school dressed in costume. Join the festivities, but no masks or weapons, please.

  • REMINDER to ALL 2020 Grads:  HECKBERT’S will be set up at the school Oct 30th to Nov.7th photographing Grads of 2020. Please see the link on the web page for all the information:
    All appointments must be signed up for on line. If you do not intend to purchase pictures, your photo will still need to be taken for the school composite.

Student Services:

  • Interested in a Rotary Youth Exchange? Rotary will hold an “Information Session” at Charlottetown Rural High School – Lecture Theatre on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 7 pm for parents and students who wish to participate in this great adventure. For further information on this see someone in Student Services.
  • Do you plan to attend UPEI or Holland College next year? Why not take advantage of having the usual $40 – $50 application fee waived on Friday, November 8th, at the UPEI and Holland College Open Houses. Students needing to order transcripts, for these events, can sign the order sheets in Student Services for transcript pick up on Nov. 6th.

Athletics:

  • “AAA” men’s soccer will practice at Co-op today at 3:45. ALL players are expected to attend!

  • Any grade 11 or 12 students interested in tutoring their peers in math or science, should come to a short meeting today at lunch in room 139.

  • Good luck to Vee Chatterjee, Destiny Fraser, Lillian MacIsaac, Aiyana Pritchard and Riddhima Upreti who are participating in the Provincial Envirothon competition today and tomorrow.

Athletics:

  • There’s an intramural team speedball tournament coming up. Signup sheets will be posted in the next few days on the bulletin boards in the gym and cafeteria.

Meetings:

  • Attention all those interested in the Environmental Club, we have a meeting today! It’s at lunch in room 330. Come advocate for change at Colonel Gray!
  • Any grade 11 or 12 students interested in tutoring their peers in math or science, should come to a short mandatory meeting tomorrow at lunch in room 139.
  • The Film Club will be meeting tomorrow at lunch in room 103. All are welcome to attend, no prior experience necessary.

Notes:

  • A few reminders from the school about this evenings school dance:
    – The dress is semi-formal (this means, we are dressing up a bit Colonels!)
    – Reminder for not only the dance, but every day, this is a SCENT free public building. NO perfumes/colognes, strong smelling hairspray etc please due to severe allergies.
    – The only entrance to the building is through the main doors this evening and there is a coat check.
    – Guests must check in with the office upon arrival to receive a bracelet. Please ensure your guest has a photo id.
  • Good luck to the Envirothon team members – Vee Chatterjee, Destiny Fraser, Lilian MacIsaac, Aiyana Pritchard and Riddhima Upreti. The team will be representing Colonel Gray at the Provincial Envirothon competition on October 25th and 26th at Brookvale & Camp Keir.

  • Reminder this is Homecoming Spirit Week! Show some school spirit by dressing up: Friday is Gray Pride day. Wear Colonel Gray colors & gear. Check posters around the school and social media for reminders.

Athletics:

  • Anyone interested in playing “AAA” Women’s basketball this year is invited to an optional gym time tonight from 6-730.
  • “A” men’s soccer hosts Morell today at 4:30 on Colonel Gray field.
  • “AAA” men and women’s soccer are heading to Westisle today, while
  • “AAA” men and women’s volleyball are at Charlottetown Rural.

Meetings:

  • Attention all those involved in the Free the Children’s Haunted Basement! There will be a mandatory meeting today at lunch. Everyone MUST be there!
  • Do you think our school could be a more environmentally friendly space? We do too! Come join the Environmental Club on Thursday, at lunch, in room 330 to make your school greener!
  • Peer helpers: There will be block meetings at the start of each block on Thursday. Meet in student services.
  • The Red Cross Club will be meeting today at lunch in room 117, stop by if you can.

Notes:

  • CONGRATS to the Colonel Gray Grade 10 and 11/12 bands on a successful Fall Band Concert in the cafeteria last evening! WELL DONE!
  • Student council is looking for an interested staff or student photographer to take pictures during the Homecoming dance. Please get in touch with Mrs. Charlton in Room 214 if you are interested.
  • Need service hours for phys Ed but haven’t started yet? Want to join Key Club but you keep missing the Monday meetings? Today you are in luck.
  • There will be a service project taking place at in Room 140, Mrs. Lee’s classroom, at lunchtime today. Just show up! Bring a friend! Come be part of something awesome!
  • Thursday at lunch there will be a series of short challenges on the stage in the cafeteria. We will be taking volunteers to participate in the games with Homecoming bracelets up for grabs. See you all there, Colonels!

  • Block A teachers – please return your Homecoming bracelet sales envelopes to the office at lunchtime today.

Athletics:

  • Congratulations to our women’s volleyball team who won their division in the Wall of Fame Cup this weekend. Our men’s soccer team lost to Rural in a shoot out in the championship game. Thank you to all of our volunteers for their help this weekend! If you did not receive your volunteer shirt you can pick it up from the Phys Ed department today.
  • There will be open gym for women’s basketball tonight at 7:30.
  • Women’s field hockey hosts TOSH at 445 on the Cornwall turf.
    Men’s “A” soccer travels to Kensington today, the bus will leave at 3:45 from the front of the school.
    Men’s Volleyball hosts Montague tonight at 5:30.
    Women’s volleyball travels to Kensington for a 5:30 start.
  • “AAA” men’s soccer will practice at 3:30 today.

Athletics:

  • The Colonel Gray Wrestling Club has practice in the cafeteria on Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 6:00-8:00pm. It is open to any student of t he Gray. No experience necessary. This club is open to anyone that would like  to try wrestling for either competition or to just get in shape.
  • We are missing baseball jerseys could the following players see Thane today! Justin Thompson, Noah Dow, Moiz Khalid, Finn Carragher and Issac McCabe. If anyone is interested in ordering a baseball hoodie, please see Thane before Monday!

  • There will be a meeting at lunch for anyone interested in volunteering at the Wall of Fame Cup this weekend. We are looking for people to work the door as well as volleyball scorekeeping. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please see Mrs Lindsay by the end of the day.
  • Today our “AAA” men and women’s soccer teams will host Charlottetown Rural as part of the Wall of Fame Cup. The games will be at 4:30.
  • Our “A” men’s soccer team hosts Souris today at Co-op field at 5pm.

Feel free to invite your families and siblings. Stay around to watch our teams battle Rural in soccer games starting at 4:30. Wear Gray colors or plaid.
  • Students who need extra time to finish their drafting tests with Ms. Bovaird will be given time during lunch today.

Athletics:

  • Good luck to all of our athletes participating in cross-country provincials at Charlottetown Rural today.
  • “AAA” men’s soccer will have practice today after school at Colonel Gray.
    “A” men’s soccer will have practice at Co-op.
  • Any students interested in volunteering for the Wall of Fame Cup this weekend, there will be a meeting in the gym tomorrow, Wednesday, at lunch time. If you are unable to attend, please see Mrs. Lindsay. There are time slots available to working the door, volleyball scorekeeping and supervising soccer.
  • Any cross country athletes who need a ride to Rural today for Provincials should meet outside Student Services today at 11:45.
  • Congratulations to the Colonel Gray Golf team, Owen Morrison, Jack MacKinnon and Charles Peacock who lost in the Provincial Championship last Thursday. All three players golfed in the eighties and had personal best scores but still fell short. GREAT GOLFING GUY!!!!

  • KEY Club will meet today, TUESDAY, in Mrs. Lee’s room to complete a service project for the kidney foundation. Room 140. All are welcome to contribute.
  • There will be a short meeting today at the beginning of lunch, 12:40, in room 117, for anyone interested in representing Colonel Gray at the 2019 Youth Parliament event. If you are in grade 11 or 12, and have an interest in politics, it is a great opportunity.
