Graduation:

  • Grads are reminded that your school fees need to be paid to the main office or online as soon as possible.
  • Prom bracelets will go on sale June 3rd – 7th in the library for $15.  They will be available in the morning, between breaks and after school. Do not come at lunch or in the middle of class to get them.  After the 7th, they will still be available, but the price goes up to $20.  If you are a grad, you must sign for your own bracelet. 

Notes:

  • Hey Colonel Grays, this afternoon at D block in the Lecture Theater, 12:30- 1:45, Farahnaz Rezael (Phara Reezeel) will deliver her presentation of her personal journey, and introduce cultures of Arab World. All students are welcome to attend and free to ask questions.
  • Come to the main lobby at lunch for a cold drink for a hot price!
  • Collection bins for the bottle drive will be located under the main staircase in the lobby and in the cafeteria in front of the stage. The bottle drive will run from May 24-June 7.
  • The Red Cross Club will be selling jumbo freezies in the lobby today for a $1. Stop by for a sweet treat!
  • Come to Space Disco today at lunch in room 244, this week’s theme: Ash Day!
  • Summer School is now active through MyBluePrint. Summer school starts July 3-August 14, 2019.

Graduation:

  • For prom dance, a parent, Mary Dow-Zakem, is putting together a slideshow to play during the prom. If you have pictures from your school years or events at the Gray, please send to : mgdow1@gmail.com.  We would like to have all the grads in the slideshow but you need to send pictures to make it happen!

  • Tickets will be on sale today for Graysino! Get your ticket for $5 from your Block C teacher this week.
  • Hello fellow Colonels, we invite you to come to our bake sale today by the main doors at lunch. We will have cookies, brownies, fudge and cupcakes. All the profits will go to First Nations Child & Family Caring Society. They are a nonprofit organization that will distribute the funds where they are needed the most to help out indigenous people in Canada. Be sure to stop by for some delicious baked goods.
  • Anyone who wants to volunteer with youth empowerment program to mentor junior high students, Information meeting today at 12 in room 139.

  • Congratulations to the A women’s rugby team who brought home the banner from the Charlottetown Rural 7’s tournament on the weekend.

  • A grade 12 Global Issues group will be putting on a bake sale Tuesday May 21st in the hall by the main doors. Drop by to purchase a treat to support the Me to We Foundation.
  • Tomorrow from 12-3 a group of grade 12 Leadership students are hosting a kids carnival here at the Gray! There will be toys, games, food and more! All proceeds from the event will go towards St. Jean School for kids who can’t afford school lunches. If you have younger siblings or kids who may enjoy the fun bring them down. Cash only $1, 2 and 3 items.

Athletics:

  • Girls Softball defeated Morell yesterday 15 – 0. Top batters were Lauren Smith and Amanda McBain, pitcher Abbey Smith threw a no-hitter over five innings.

Band:  

  • If you’re going on the trip, please see Mr. Doiron for the trip itinerary.

Meetings:

  • Spirit Club meets today in the Lecture Theatre at 11:45. All new members are welcome! We are planning Rainbow Day for this Friday and it will be epic!!!

  • Reminder for Girls Softball team to meet in the front lobby at 3:30 to take the bus to Morell. Any questions or concerns, see Mr. Chandler in Room 238 today.

Band:

  • Rehearsals this week: Little Big Band rehearses today at Lunch. Gr. 10 band rehearses Thursday morning.  If you’re going on the trip, please see Mr. Doiron for the trip itinerary.

  • Congratulations to the women’s softball team who defeated Montague last night in their first home game, 10-0. Winning pitcher was Darcy Kelly.  Top batters were Lauren Smith and Grace Freeman.
  • AAA rugby hosts Montague tonight, with the girls at 5 and the boys at 6. Reminder that you can follow @gray_athletics on Twitter for schedules & results.
  • No Gray Fit today after school.

Notes:

  • SILVER AWARD CEREMONY  for Duke of Edinburgh Award is THIS WEDNESDAY. Arrive by 6:30 pm at Holland College. Ceremony starts at 7:00 pm.
  • All students participating in the Sustainable Transit Project are asked to attend a quick meeting today at 11:45 in the Lecture Theatre. Please bring your Bus passes to be stamped.
  • Today the Band-minton tournament will continue in the band room at lunch. Games will be Koka-Cola vs Les Boys and Uhhh Luke vs The Spanish Inquisition. All are encouraged to attend to cheer on your favorite team!

  • At lunch on tomorrow there will be a Student Loan Information presentation in the Lecture Theater.  Interested parents are also welcome to attend.  Don’t miss this once-a-year opportunity to find out about applying for a loan, the amount of money graduates are eligible to receive, as well as specifics about the application process.
  • Students who are interested in summer or permanent full-time job opportunities after graduation can check the Atlantic Aqua Farm poster in Student Services for jobs working on mussel boats in various locations on PEI.  You must be 16+ to apply.

  • There will be yoga in the Wellness center today after school at 3:30. All are welcome.
  • Women’s softball host Montague today at 5:30 on Kiwanis field.

  • SILVER AWARD CEREMONY  for Duke of Edinburgh Award is THIS WEDNESDAY. Arrive by 6:30 pm at Holland College. Ceremony starts at 7:00 pm.

  • Congratulations to two teams from Animal Science class who participated in the provincial genAg competition on May 10th at the PEI Agrisector. Island AG team won 3rd place Congrats – Dylan Gallant, Chase Costello, Wyatt Mcphee, Josh Ford and Kee Naw. Animal AG team was close by only .2 points Great job – Olivia Boch, Riley Lawless, Kaileigh Martell and Enny Olajide.
  • Could the following students please go to the library?   Emily Phan, Huy Vuong, Kiera Dinh.                                                                               

Student Services:

  • Mount Allison University will be assisting next year’s students with course registration at lunch today in Computer Lab 153.
