Meetings:

  • There will be a Film Club meeting today at lunch in room 103.
  • Drivers Ed students are asked to please go to room 101 at the end of the day to get your final mark.

Notes:

  • Students who are participating in Poetry in Voice need to present their poems at lunch today in Room 215.
  • Important Duke of E meeting for ALL Bronze, Silver and Gold Candidates who hope to complete the current level and attend the awards ceremony this spring. Meeting is NEXT WEDNESDAY in room 140 at lunch. The meeting will be brief. Following the meeting, Mrs. Lee will be available for individual questions about logging. Please be sure to attend.

Student Services:

  • St. Thomas University will be here today at lunch in Student Services.
  • A representative from UPEI will be at Colonel Gray Wednesday morning, Feb. 19th. Grade 12 students may sign up for individual appointment times on the table in Student Services.  This is a great opportunity to have questions answered on UPEI scholarships and awards, which are due March 1st. 
  • Just a reminder to students who wish to have their official First Semester transcripts sent to universities & colleges, please fill in a transcript request form in Student Services right away. Transcripts are $2 each.

Athletics:

Meetings:

  • Free the children will be meeting today at lunch in the Art room, All are welcome to join!
  • The meeting for the Paris and Barcelona trip will be today at 11:50 in room 141. Please see Mr. MacDonald for more information.
  • The Key Club will be holding a cake auction today in the cafeteria.
  • The Red Cross Club will be selling Valentine’s Day candygrams this week until tomorrow in the lobby.
  • There is no Debate Club today. We will meet next week, forms and fees still need to be given to Mr. MacCormack.

Notes:

  • In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, student council is encouraging people to wear red, pink or white on Friday. If you want to spread some love, add a post it message to the windows in the front lobby, or take a picture in the photo booth in the upstairs of the lobby, and post it to Insta or Snap. All happening Friday.

    St. Mary’s University (with pizza lunch) on Thursday 
    St. Thomas University on Friday.
  • St.Mary’s University will be holding an Open House tonight at Hampton Inn & Suites at 7PM for parents and students.

  • The Red Cross Club will be selling Valentine’s Day candygrams this week from Tuesday to Thursday in the lobby.

  • Students traveling to Rome and Athens on March Break are reminded of the very important meeting Tuesday evening at 7pm here at the school. Please see Mr. MacDonald if you can’t make it.
  • Are you interested in traveling to Paris and Barcelona during March Break next year? Mr. MacDonald and Mr. Rowe are organizing that trip for 2021. Come to an info meeting Wednesday at lunch in room 141.
  • Students participating in the computer science competition this Thursday should have received an email on how to register and setup for the competition. If you have not received the email please contact Mr. MacDougald at almacdougald@edu.pe.ca.

  • Any students planning to enter UPEI’s nursing program, please see Valerie in Student Services.

    Mount Saint Vincent here today (they will be waiving the normal application fee)
    Acadia University on Wednesday
    St. Mary’s University (with pizza lunch) on Thursday 
    St. Thomas University on Friday.

Athletics:

  • “AA” men and women are in Montague today, with our “A” women hosting Westisle at 5:45. We’re in need of three minor officials for this game, if you’re able to do it please see Mrs. Lindsay.

Meetings:

Meetings:

  • All Debate Club members are expected to see Mr. MacCormack today at some point during lunch time today to discuss the upcoming Confederation Cup weekend.

Notes:

  • Any grade 10 or 11 students interested in writing the Waterloo Cayley or Fermat contests who haven’t already signed up can do so in Mr. MacEwen’s room (244) at lunch today or tomorrow.
  • The cafeteria is trying to cut down on plastic usage, if you bring your food from home could you please bring your own cutlery and condiments.

Student Services:

  • Mount Allison University will be in Student Services today during lunch.

  • At lunch time on Friday, Parks Canada will set up a booth outside Student Services recruiting students for summer jobs. Applications can be filled in on-the-spot. In past years, many Colonel Gray students have lined up their summer job by taking advantage of this wonderful, come-to-our-school Parks Canada opportunity.

Athletics:

  • In athletics today our “AAA” basketball teams are hosting TOSH, with the women at 5:30 and the men at 7:15. We’re in need of one scorekeeper for the 5:30 game and two for the 7:15. Please see Mrs. Lindsay if you’re able to do it.
  • Our “AA” men are at TOSH tonight.  “A women” practicing at 3:30.

  • Turnaround day will be tomorrow, Tuesday February 4th.               (NO CLASSES FOR STUDENTS)
  • The Gym and Wellness Center will be closed to students for today and tomorrow!
  • A reminder to all students: Your current Block A teacher is the person to whom you return your LOCK at the END of the school year.
    You may have a new block A teacher in second semester, but your locker assignment stays the same.
    A reminder that locker areas (and hallways) are to remain very quiet during exam week.
