  • The Film Club meeting today at lunch in room 103.

Notes:

  • Would all students who are registered for the Transitions Program for 2nd semester at Holland College, please attend a brief meeting at the beginning of lunch in room 117.
  • A reminder to all students: Your current Block A teacher is the person to whom you return your LOCK at the END of the school year.
    You may have a new block A teacher in second semester, but your locker assignment stays the same.
    A reminder that locker areas (and hallways) are to remain very quiet during exam week.
  • Tutors who have signed up for Friday shift of the math and science center have to be at the conference room of the library at lunch.
  • The math and science help center is open for all students today at lunch. Come to the conference room of the library for any questions regarding science and math. With the exam week coming up it’s a great place to get some questions answered.

  • Holland College will be hosting Campus Tour Day on Saturday, Feb. 1 between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. (storm date Feb. 8) Students applying for courses on this day will have the normal application fee of $40 waived, plus a chance to win a $500 tuition credit. Register for Campus Tour Day on the Holland College website prior to Feb. 1st.

  • There will be a meeting today at lunch in room 139 for anyone interested in helping out with Safe Grad this year. 

Notes:

  • The Red Cross Club will be having a bake sale today at lunch in the main lobby. All proceeds will be going towards the relief funds for the damage done by the wildfire in Australia.

Student Services:

  • Holland College will be hosting Campus Tour Day on Saturday, Feb. 1 between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. (storm date Feb. 8) Students applying for courses on this day will have the normal application fee of $40 waived, plus a chance to win a $500 tuition credit. Register for Campus Tour Day on the Holland College website prior to Feb. 1st.

  • “AAA” men and women host Rural today- women at 530 and men at 730…..”AA” women travel to Morell- bus leaves at 345.

Meetings:

  • Tonight at the Guild art gallery, our very own Colonel Gray students will be having art opening! The event runs from 7pm-9pm. Everyone is invited to come and see what our graduating art students have on display.

  • There will be a Safe Grad meeting on Thursday at lunch in room 139 for anyone interested in helping out this year.

  • The Miracle Minute for Australian Wildfire Relief will happen tomorrow during announcements. Please bring change to support this cause.
  • Attention students who are interested in computer science. There are two opportunities with upcoming deadlines, any student who wants to participate in the Waterloo computer science competition should speak to Mr. MacDougald by Wednesday. There is also a computer science conference for students at Mount Allison University, please see Mr. MacDougald by Monday for more details.

Student Services:

  • The RCMP again is hosting a National Youth Engagement week in late March and one student from PEI will be chosen to go, free of charge. If you are interested please see Mr. Cox in Student Services.
  • Any grade twelve students wishing to meet one-on-one with a UPEI advisor on the afternoon of January 22nd can sign up for a 20-minute session in Student Services. See Mr. Peterson for details.

  • Did you know that 5900 buildings, over half of which are personal homes have burned in the Australian wildfires? Please bring change and show your support for the Australian Wildfire Disaster Relief Fund. Miracle Minute happening tomorrow morning.
  • Attention students who are interested in computer science. There are two opportunities with upcoming deadlines, any student who wants to participate in the Waterloo computer science competition should speak to Mr. MacDougald by Wednesday. There is also a computer science conference for students at Mount Allison University, please see Mr. MacDougald by Monday for more details.
  • Student tutors who signed up for the Thursday shift of tutoring have to be at the library at lunch today.

  • Very important peer helping block meetings on Wednesday at the start of each block.
  • Attention to all those in the Environmental Club, there will be a meeting in the art room at lunch today.

Notes:

  • Did you know that an estimated 1 billion wildlife have died in the Australian Wildfires. Many species are now on the endangered species list and some may be driven to extinction. This Friday we will hold a Miracle Minute during announcements to raise funds to provide support for disaster relief in Australia. Bring your change and help out.
  • Please check the lost and found table in the main lobby, anything not picked up by the end of the day on Wednesday will be donated.
  • Students going on the trip to Italy and Greece are reminded of the meeting this evening in room 141 at 7pm. If you have any questions, please see Mr. MacDonald.
