Athletics:

  • In soccer semi-finals last night, our AAA men defeated Rural in a close 1-0 game. Scoring for the Colonels was Amina Niyubushbozi. The boys will play in the gold medal game on Saturday, at 3pm at the Cornwall turf. No practice today, but mandatory training tomorrow at 3:30 at Colonel Gray field.
  • Our “AAA” women lost to Rural 1-0, so will play in the bronze medal game on Friday at 6:45, Cornwall turf.
  • Both of our volleyball teams defeated Westisle on the road last night in their last regular season game.
  • Women’s Field Hockey and “A” Men’s Soccer teams, please return your uniforms to the Phys. Ed department by tomorrow or the cost of the uniform will be charged to your account.

Meetings:

  • Making Waves is having a meeting today at 11:40 in the Lecture Theatre.

Notes:

  • A reminder that the drafting test re-write will take place at 11:45 in Ms Bovairds room at lunch today.
  • Duke of Edinburgh reports are now overdue. To have this section of the award approved, you need to submit these reports ASAP. See Mrs. Lee in Room 140 or refer to the google classroom for further instruction.
  • Today at lunch there will be a bake sale held in the front lobby. All proceeds of the bake sale will go towards Christmas baskets filled with food and toys for the less fortunate children in Peru. Come help out with this great cause and buy some treats!

Student Services:

  • Colonel Gray students interested in an international student exchange for the 2020/2021 school year should attend the Rotary information meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Charlottetown Rural Lecture Theatre at 7 p.m. At least one parent should accompany you at this meeting.

  • Monday, Nov. 4 Carleton University from Ontario, will be visiting Student Services at lunch time, University of New Brunswick on Nov. 5 and St. Mary’s University on Nov. 7. St. Mary’s will be waiving their normal application fee, at this time. Also, after school on Nov. 7, University of Toronto will be in Lab 153 for any students interested.

  • Students who ordered transcripts for UPEI and Holland College’s open houses, with free application fee on Nov. 8th, can pick up transcripts on Wednesday in Student Services at $2 each. Reminder to also take a copy of your timetables, as they will need a list of courses you are in now, as well as what you are taking Second Semester.  Students should register on-line before both open houses, so that UPEI and Holland College know you are coming, and which program you are looking at.

Bus 181, which has been running 1/2 hour late the past few mornings, will return to its normal pick up time tomorrow morning.

On behalf of the Charlottetown Y’s Men, Mr. Foster would like to thank you for all of your help for the Food Drive on October 28 evening.  As you have likely heard we fill 43 bins with food.  The Y’s Men have been doing this for 33 years and this is the biggest amount of food that they can ever remember collecting.

If you want Mr. Foster to sign your form for the Community Service Scholarship, he will be in Student Services on Thursday at noon time.

Athletics:

Our AAA soccer teams are playing semi-final games today. Women are at Rural at 4, Men are here at 4.

AAA men and women’s volleyball teams are heading to Westisle today, bus leaves at 3:45.

  • Guess Who’s Back..GrayFit’s back!! Today  after school. Come get your sweat on with fellow staff & students.

  • Free the Children executive members are meeting today at lunch in room 330.
  • Student council has an open meeting in Room 214 today at lunch. All are welcome.
  • No Youth for Youth meeting today!

Notes:

  • On Thursday an IB Group will be hosting a bake sale at lunch selling Halloween themed treats. The money raised will go towards making Christmas baskets filled with food and toys for the less fortunate children in Peru. Come help out with this great cause and buy some treats!

  • Thursday is Halloween, and it is Colonel tradition to come to school dressed in costume. Join the festivities, but no masks or weapons, please.

  • REMINDER to ALL 2020 Grads:  HECKBERT’S will be set up at the school Oct 30th to Nov.7th photographing Grads of 2020. Please see the link on the web page for all the information:
    All appointments must be signed up for on line. If you do not intend to purchase pictures, your photo will still need to be taken for the school composite.

Athletics:

  • Our women’s field hockey team finished their season last night with a 2-1 win over Montague, and a bronze medal. Congratulations on a strong finish ladies! Thank you to Coaches Charla Currie & Ellen Andrews.
  • Our “A” men’s soccer team also finished their season last night after a tough loss to Montague in their 1/4 final. Thank you to coaches Nelson Edomobi & Daniel Dan Ebbah.
  • Please have uniforms returned to the Phys Ed department by Friday or the cost will be added to school cash.

Athletics:

  • Women’s field hockey will be playing in the bronze medal game today at 3pm at the Cornwall turf.
  • “AAA” men’s soccer will practice today at 4 at Colonel Gray field, “AAA” women are at Co-op.
  • “A” men’s soccer travel to Montague today to play in a 1/4 final. The bus will leave at 3:35- do not be late!
  • “AAA” men and women’s volleyball play tonight at 5 & 7. We still need one scorekeeper for each of those games, please see Mrs. Lindsay if you are able to help out.
  • Please note that due to the volleyball games there is no women’s basketball tonight.

Meetings:

  • Student council has an open meeting in Room 214 every Tuesday at lunch. All are welcome.
  • Are you interested in knowing more about the Polar Expressions Writing Contest? Come to the Youth for Youth meeting tomorrow at lunch in room 139! 

Notes:

  • The Charlottetown Y’s Men’s Food Drive is being held tonight from 5:30-7:30pm. Anyone interested in volunteering to help, please meet at the teacher’s door at 5:30pm. If you can bring a car it would be greatly appreciated.

Athletics:

  • There’s an intramural team speedball tournament coming up. Signup sheets will be posted in the next few days on the bulletin boards in the gym and cafeteria.

Meetings:

  • Attention all those interested in the Environmental Club, we have a meeting today! It’s at lunch in room 330. Come advocate for change at Colonel Gray!
  • Any grade 11 or 12 students interested in tutoring their peers in math or science, should come to a short mandatory meeting tomorrow at lunch in room 139.
  • The Film Club will be meeting tomorrow at lunch in room 103. All are welcome to attend, no prior experience necessary.

Notes:

  • A few reminders from the school about this evenings school dance:
    – The dress is semi-formal (this means, we are dressing up a bit Colonels!)
    – Reminder for not only the dance, but every day, this is a SCENT free public building. NO perfumes/colognes, strong smelling hairspray etc please due to severe allergies.
    – The only entrance to the building is through the main doors this evening and there is a coat check.
    – Guests must check in with the office upon arrival to receive a bracelet. Please ensure your guest has a photo id.
  • Good luck to the Envirothon team members – Vee Chatterjee, Destiny Fraser, Lilian MacIsaac, Aiyana Pritchard and Riddhima Upreti. The team will be representing Colonel Gray at the Provincial Envirothon competition on October 25th and 26th at Brookvale & Camp Keir.

Athletics:

  • Anyone interested in playing “AAA” Women’s basketball this year is invited to an optional gym time tonight from 6-730.
  • “A” men’s soccer hosts Morell today at 4:30 on Colonel Gray field.
  • “AAA” men and women’s soccer are heading to Westisle today, while
  • “AAA” men and women’s volleyball are at Charlottetown Rural.

Meetings:

  • Attention all those involved in the Free the Children’s Haunted Basement! There will be a mandatory meeting today at lunch. Everyone MUST be there!

  • There will be a service project taking place at in Room 140, Mrs. Lee’s classroom, at lunchtime today. Just show up! Bring a friend! Come be part of something awesome!
  • Thursday at lunch there will be a series of short challenges on the stage in the cafeteria. We will be taking volunteers to participate in the games with Homecoming bracelets up for grabs. See you all there, Colonels!
