Athletics:

  • There will be a short mandatory meeting today in the gym at the beginning of lunch for all badminton players attending provincials.
  • Speedball today: David’s Disappointments vs Sunnyvale Speedball and Mike’s Disciples vs Newcomers.

Notes:

  • Attention Grade 12 Immersion students participating in the DELF exam next week.  There will be an information/practice session in Mr. Arsenault’s room 118, this Thursday from 11:45 til 12:15. Please be on time as we will be starting on time.
  • Are you interested in filling a school leadership role?  Colonel Gray’s student council is looking for energetic, dedicated and passionate school leaders to run for executive positions for next year’s council.  Interested applicants can pick up a form outside the student council office and return to Mrs. Charlton in Room 214 by May 2nd.  Applications must be accompanied by a teacher’s recommendation. 
  • Today the first round for the BANDminton tournament will begin at 11:50 in the band room. Teams competing today are Ashoka’s Leftovers vs Banana Club, Beauty and the Beast vs The Spanish Inquisition and Les Boys vs Tater and Spud. Spectators are encouraged to attend.
  • There is still some help needed to finish painting the sets for the musical this week. Anyone interested can help in the art room today and tomorrow at lunch, as well as Wednesday and Friday after school (3:30-4:30).

Athletics:

  • Speedball today: 2 Fast 4 U vs Speed Demons and Sensational Sophomores vs Monica The Speedball God and Friends
  • Anyone girls interested in trying out for the Col. Gray Softball Team are asked to meet in room 139 at 3:30 on Friday.  We will be going outside for our 1st practice right after the meeting so dress warmly.  The next practice will be Monday.  The season starts a week from Monday.
  • Could the following students please see Mrs. Lindsay today: Dallas Lannigan, Jeremy Norman, Cody MacDonald & Hunter Blaisdell
  • “A” Women’s Rugby meeting start of lunch in room 238.

  • Debate club will meet at 3:15 today in room 141 for some impromptu debates on using cell phones in cars.

  • Congratulations go out to Emma McLure, Matti Reddick, and Gabe Carter-Caseley for their performances in the provincial poetry slam.  And, a big shout out to Madison Power-Lockman for winning first place!
  • Congratulations to Colonel Gray student Brian Do. In a recent contest held across the Island to redesign the PEI Food Project’s logo, Brian’s design won first place. Thanks to all Colonel Gray students who participated.
  • Interested in sharing your Colonel Gray spirit?  Interested in getting some buzz back in the building?  If so, come on down to the Lecture Theatre today for our first Spirit Club meeting of the year.  Find Mr. B for more details!

  • Ever wonder which Colonel gray teacher competed at the Canada Games for water skiing? Come to Trivia night, Thursday 7-9pm to find out. Tickets are on sale at lunch today -Thursday in the lobby.
  • All students interested in performing in the Provincial Poetry Slam have a mandatory meeting today at lunch in the Lecture Theatre.  All interested performers are encouraged to attend.

Student Services:

  • Graduates who are planning to attend St. Mary’s University next year will have a course registration opportunity tomorrow (Wednesday) at lunch time in the computer lab.

Meetings:

  • Making Waves students are to meet today at 1:45 in the Lecture Theatre.
  • Free the Children meeting today at lunch in room 120, all are welcome!
Notes:
  • Any students wishing to write one of the University of Waterloo Chemistry Exams need to sign up by Wednesday, April 17 in Room 230. See Mr. Sealy for more details.
  • Key Club is having a bake sale today and Wednesday at lunch to raise money for Easter Seals! Be sure to bring your change to get some delicious treats!
  • Students who are interested in the trip to Greece and Rome – there will be a meeting Wednesday evening at 7 pm here at the school.  It is very important for you and at least one parent to be there.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. MacDonald in room 152.
  • Red Cross Club will continue to host its Mystery Box Challenge today and tomorrow in the cafeteria during lunch. Get 2 guesses for $1 and earn a chance to win a $25 gift card. Come test your luck!
  • Student Council is looking for Colonel Gray talent for an upcoming event! If you or someone you know is interested please sign up with your name and contact information on the sign-up sheet on the student council office door.

Athletics:

  • The Wellness Center will be closed after school today for yoga. All students and staff are welcome to come, no yoga experience necessary 3:30 sharp!

Meetings:

  • Key Club meeting today at lunch in room 140.
Notes:
  • This is an important message for all grade 12 students who registered for the DELF.  The schedule is now posted by Mr. Arsenault’s classroom (118).  Please make note of your appointment time as you have to be there a few minutes early and bring with you  proof of ID with your picture on it, like a driver’s license or your school ID card for example.

  • Wellness Center will be closed after school today.
  • Have you lost something in the Phys Ed area recently? Sometimes things found in the gym or change rooms are given to the Phys Ed teachers, so check with them if you’ve lost jewelry, clothing, etc.
Notes:
  • Red Cross Club Mystery Box event is happening today in the front lobby during lunch. The price is $1 for 2 guesses and those who guess correctly will have a chance to win a $10 or $25 gift card depending on your accuracy. Come and try your luck and tactile sharpness……if you’re not that confident, bring a friend! Winners will be announced by the end of the week.
  • The Cornerstone Baptist Church in Cornwall is having a Prom Dress Giveaway on Friday from 4:00-9:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 until 1:00.  They have 100’s of dresses to choose from ranging in all sizes. They have shoes and accessories as well.
  • Mr. Connelly’s grade 11 French law classes have been working on a petition, which you can find on the website “petitions.ourcommons.ca”if you search e-2139. If you are wiling please sign the petition.
