Athletics:

  • A reminder that if you are in the gym at lunchtime, there is absolutely no food or drink allowed. If you plan on participating, you must change your clothes.

Meetings:

  • The lunch time debate club meeting is cancelled. Instead, the debate team will meet today after school, at 3:20, in room 141.

Music:

  •  Gr. 10 band will rehearse tomorrow morning and Tuesday morning at 745am         Gr. 11/12 band will rehearse Monday morning at 745am.

Notices:

  • Calling all students interested in PHOTOGRAPHY? You can be part of SKILLS CANADA competitions this year in their new category of photography! The deadline to enter is FRIDAY – March 1 See Ms Bovaird to reserve your place – just participating in an event like this is good for your resume… and who knows – you might win!!
  • This year’s BUTTON CONTEST WINNERS are asked to see Ms Bovaird if they have any questions about the BUTTON TRADING EVENT at the Confed Cetnre ART GALLERY, 7 pm this Friday night! Congratulations to Ben Crosby, Asmita Subba, Felix Forrester Wendt, Jenna Beazley, Judy Jun, Ella Hopkirk-Hickey, Ellen Yarr and Sara Ismael. Please check your gmail for details! The Button Trading event is open to EVERYONE and is FREE so come along and bring your friends.
  • Attention all silver duke of e candidates. Books are due by today. Please bring to Mrs.Lee in room 140 or the math office.
  • The Mawi’omi Centre will be hosting a PD Day on Campus for Indigenous youth (Grade 8 to 12) on March 8th from 10 to 2! It will be a day of exploring campus and having fun.  Registrations are at tinyurl.com/y2fn3j3w  
  • Need a quiet place to study, draw or just socialize? The Confederation Library is hosting a Drop-in Drawing group on Saturdays from 1:30-5:00! All are welcome from ages 13-18 and you can come and go as you please. Pencils and paper are provided and no drawing experience required!
  • Come to Space Disco tomorrow at lunch in room 244, this week’s theme Childhood TV Shows!

Athletics:

  • Last night in Colonel Gray basketball action we saw all four of our basketball teams playing in quarter-final matches. Our Gray 2 women lost to TOSH by 10 points, with Milla MacVicar scoring 14 points and having both a strong offensive and defensive game. Thank you to coaches Bob Knudson, Mike Smith & Brittany MacLean for their time and commitment this season.
  • Gray 2 men defeated TOSH 3 73-53 to advance to the A semi-final where they will play against Souris. David Elsinga was the top scorer of that game with 27 points.
  • Gray 1 women will advance to the AAA semi-finals after winning against Montague 62-46. With a strong offensive opening quarter, scoring 22 points, they set the tone early. Sydney Strain and Rylee Connolly led the offensive charge with 14 points each.
  • Gray 1 men defeated Bluefield 69-47 to also advance to the AAA semi-finals. Team was led in scoring by Ian Kerr and grade 10 Nathan Swansburg. Yahya Sefau lead Gray with his decision making, defense and rebounding with 13 boards. The AAA semi-final games will be played at UPEI tomorrow, times to be determined.

Meetings:

  • Red Cross Club meeting today at 12:30 in room 117.

Music:

  •  Grade 11/12 band will rehearse Thursday morning,and Grade 10 band will rehearse Friday morning.

Notices:

  • All Peer Helpers are reminded to be at Charlottetown Rural tomorrow morning at 7:35. Bring Mr. Peterson pizza money if you ordered lunch.

  • The Confederation Centre Library is hosting Drop in Drawing for teens. Its a great chance to meet new people and improve your artistic skills. All supplies are provided. The art space runs Saturdays from 1:30 to 4:00.

Student Services:

  • A representative from University of New Brunswick will be in Student Services TODAY at lunch for all interested students. UNB will also be at the Delta Hotel tonight at 7 p.m.

 Athletics:

  • Anyone interested in playing boys rugby this year are asked to please meet in room 120 at the start of lunch today.

Meetings:

  • There will be another meeting today of the Colonel Gray Film Making Club at lunch in the Art Room. No experience needed. All Welcome.

Music:

  • Pit band will rehearse this Monday 1:30-3:00.  Grade 10 band will rehearse Tuesday & Friday morning,  Grade 11/12 band will rehearse Wednesday & Thursday morning. Please pick up your instruments at the end of the day today.

Notices:

  • Key Club’s cake walk will be happening today at lunch in the cafeteria! Come get a delicious treat and support a good cause!
  • Reminder to the grade 10 and 11 students who signed up for the Waterloo math contest to meet in the library at 8:50 on Tuesday morning.
  • Come to Space Disco this today at lunch in room 244. This week’s theme: Hannah Montana.

Student Services:

  • Mount St. Vincent University representative will be in Student Services at lunch time today and will be waiving the normal application fee for anyone applying on the spot.
  • University of New Brunswick will be in Student Services on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at lunch time for all interested students. At 7 p.m., UNB will also be at the Delta Hotel.

  • Red Cross Club meeting today at 12 pm in room 117.
  • STRIVE meeting today at lunch in room 139.

Notices:

  • We are looking for 2 students: one in grade 10 and another in grade 11 to represent the Colonel Gray student body on the District Advisory Council. It is not a huge commitment of time and can provide you with some direct input in our education system. If you are interested or if you want more details, please see Ms Lecours in the main office.
  • Come to Space Disco this Friday at lunch in room 244. This week’s theme: Hannah Montana.
  • Attention peer helpers: tomorrow’s training day has been changed to next Thursday due to the possibility of a storm. Please see Mr. Peterson if you have any questions.

Student Services:

  • At lunch today, admissions staff from Holland College will be at Colonel Gray Student Services. Students will have an opportunity to sit down one-on-one with final questions about programs, applying, or scholarships. Note, Feb. 28th is the Holland College deadline for program applications and  entry scholarships.
  • Mount St. Vincent University representative will be in Student Services at lunch time on Friday, Feb. 22nd, and will be waiving the normal application fee for anyone applying on the spot.
