Athletics:

  • Tomorrow will see the 2nd Grayfit workout with a new local celebrity joining in. Get involved!

Meetings:

  • Bring change on Thursday to support the Easter seals foundation by donating in the miracle minute!

Notices:

  • Any students wishing to write the Avogadro or Chem 13 News Chemistry Exam is asked to sign up in Room 230 by Monday, April 16th. In order to write these exams you must have taken a Grade 11 or 12 Chemistry class. See Mr. Sealy for additional information.
  • Starting today entrance to the school for visitors and students will be through the main entrance on Spring Park Road and the student door located on the south side of the building (student parking lot side).

Student Services:

  • Mount Allison University will be in Student Services at lunch time today to assist applicants with course registration.
  • On Thursday, April 19th, after being previously stormed out, UPEI staff will be in the Colonel Gray computer lab 153 during lunch. Applicants will have the opportunity to register for fall courses and be assisted with academic planning.  Please sign-up in Student Services.

Teachers, today is a supervision day 2.

KEY Club Convention in Halifax, Nova Scotia

The KEY Club attended the District Convention in Halifax, Nova Scotia during March Break. Students attended workshops, met many new people also committed to volunteerism and celebrated a fantastic year of service.

Athletics:

  • Today is the last day to get workout 1 of the Grayfit Challenge. Come down at noon or after school to complete the workout. Next Tuesday will see the 2nd workout with a new local celebrity joining in. Get involved!

  • There will be a MANDATORY meeting for DUKE of Edinburgh in Mrs. Lee’s room on today at 11:40.

Notices:

Home and School News – April 2018

1. Registration is open for the PEI Home and School Federation’s 65th Annual General Meeting, April 14, 2018.

Any parent, guardian, teacher, administrator or staff person at any PEIHSF member school is invited to the meeting with each member school appointing five (5) individuals to attend as voting delegates. Membership fees must be paid to allow voting privileges to voting delegates. Ensure that your Home & School is represented at the AGM. You are encouraged to pay registration fees, travel and accommodation expenses for your delegates to reduce barriers to attending. Call for more details: 620-3186 or 1-800-916-0664

2. Resolutions

Resolutions will be voted on at the Annual General Meeting, April 14th. Presidents received the complete text of resolutions by post to share/review with members. Review the proposed Policy Resolutions
Please discuss and vote on these resolutions at your next home and school meeting: your voting delegates should reflect the opinions of the parents, guardians, teachers, administrators and staff in your school.

3. Awards

School Crossing Guard of the Year Award: This award recognizes a school crossing guard on Prince Edward Island for their service in keeping our walking students safe.

School Bus Driver of the Year Award: This award recognizes school bus drivers on Prince Edward Island for their service in keeping our students safe as they travel to and from school each day.

4. Welcome to Kindergarten Program
The Welcome to Kindergarten Program is designed to help prepare preschoolers for a positive start to their school journey. Parents and their children attend spring Welcome to Kindergarten orientation sessions at their schools, where they receive early learning and literacy resources and learn how to use them at home. Since 2004, more than 450,000 children and families in Canada have taken part in Welcome to Kindergarten orientations. Welcome to Kindergarten spring session dates.

  • Championship dodge-ball game today 11:50 Loose Cannons vs Currie’s Crushers.

Meetings:

  • There will be a MANDATORY meeting for DUKE of Edinburgh in Mrs. Lee’s room on tomorrow at 11:40.
  • Important Red Cross meeting at the beginning of lunch in room 230.

Notices:

  • Tomorrow will be yellow & green or jersey day in support of the recent tragedy in Saskatchewan with the Humboldt Broncos.

Student Services:

  • Mid-term report cards will be sent home with students on Wednesday.  Do not throw these report cards out, as they may be required for attendance verification in the future, immigration documentation or unofficial marks when applying for scholarships and bursaries.

Meetings:

  • There will be a MANDATORY meeting for DUKE of Edinburgh in Mrs. Lee’s room on Thursday at 11:40.

Notices:

  • Thursday will be yellow & green/jersey day in support of the recent tragedy in Saskatchewan with the Humboldt Broncos.

  • A reminder to students writing the Waterloo Euclid Math Contest, it will be written on Wednesday morning at 9 am in Mr. MacEwen’s room (244).

Student Services:

  • Today, Monday, April 9th at 7 PM, Acadia University will be at the Delta Prince Edward for a Course Registration and Next Steps event. They’ll be talking to students and their parents about transitioning from high school to university. It’s a great way to get some tips about time management, budgeting and to learn about all the resources available at Acadia to help them along the way.

Athletics:

  • Intramural dodge-ball today 11:50 Staff Snipers vs Gamblers, 12:10 Spooky Tree Sharks vs Currie’s Crushers.
  • Any students interested trying out for the badminton team are to go to the Gym after school each day this week from 3:15-5:00pm.  We will be having our own round robin style play so that we can rank our individuals and look at our best pairings for doubles and mixed teams moving forward.  There are teams at both the grade 10 (juvenile) and grade 11-12 (senior) levels so come on out and play!

Band:

Meetings:

  • There will be a very important meeting for anyone interested in track and field today in room 153 at 11:45.
  • There will be an important meeting at 11:40 today (Friday) in room 116 for all the students who are on The Colonel Gray Hockey team.  All players must attend.

Notices:

  • The opening reception for the IB and Grade 10 Visual Art show will take place this Friday night at the Guild from 7-9pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. Come out and see the creative work presented by Ms Bovaird’s Grade 10 and IB Visual Art classes.

  • Intramural dodge-ball today 11:50 Dirty Oysters vs Rocky Balboas, 12:10 Loose Cannons vs Staff Snipers.
  • Men’s Rugby practice today from 3:30-5:30 in the gym, everyone welcome!

Band:

  • Senior Jazz will rehearse  Friday Morning.
  • Senior Jazz improve todaywith Mr. Fitz is canceled this week.

Meetings:

  • There will be a very important meeting for anyone interested in track and field tomorrow (Friday) in room 153 at 11:45.
