  • This week is Colonel Gray Key Club week and today’s activity is “Bring a friend to Key Club in room 140”.

Christmas Concert: December 13th 7:00 p.m.

The annual Colonel Gray Christmas Concert will occur at 7 p.m. on December 13th. Come out and hear our great bands perform some fantastic music as well as a few Christmas favorites.

Athletics:

  • Good luck to the men’s AAA basketball team traveling to their first tournament in Halifax this weekend.
  • Any students interested in being a part of the Powerlifting team please see Mrs. Lindsay by the end of the day today.
  • Students interested in playing on our second basketball teams, there will be an announcement next week regarding try-outs.
  • 3v3 basketball will start Monday, all signed up teams should be ready to play.
  • Reminder there will be a short meeting for all students interested in scorekeeping basketball this winter at the beginning of lunch in room 215 today .

Band:

  • Little Big Band will rehearse Monday morning at 7:45.
  • Craft fair reminder.  Students need to show up 15 minutes early for shifts and must wear the appropriate attire.  Cell phones, food, books, and games are not permitted while on duty.

Notices:

  • Alright Colonels! Next week is November Challenges: Monday is open mic in the Lecture Theatre.
  • A reminder to grads to book your grad photo appointment at the library. You are to bring your sitting fee with you on the day of the appointment.
  • Grad photos sessions are 5-10 minutes, but please be there 5-10 mins ahead of your scheduled time.
    Students must inform their teacher ahead of time if this 15-20 minutes of class-time will be missed.
  • At the end of BLOCK A to day, just before lunch time, students will receive their report cards.  Those students with out a block “A” can come to the main office to pick up reports.

Student Services:

  • Tomorrow, Nov. 17th, Holland College School of Performing Arts are having an Open Studio Day for interested Grade 11 or 12 students. See the bulletin board in Student Services for more information.

Athletics:

  • Any students interested in being a part of the Powerlifting team this year please see Mrs Lindsay today or tomorrow.
  • Any students interested in score-keeping for basketball there will be a short meeting in room 215 tomorrow (Thursday) at the beginning of lunch.
  • Women’s basketball try-outs are tonight from 7-9. This is an open try-out and will determine whether we will have a second women’s basketball team so it’s important that if you can’t make it you see Mrs. Lindsay before the end of the day today.

Band:

  • Tree and wreath tickets are now available for band students.  Please go to Room 116 at lunch.

Intramurals:

  • There is still room for teams in this year’s intramural 3 on 3 basketball league.  Sign up today in the gym.

Meetings:

  • There will be a short meeting of all the library volunteers on Thurs at 12 in the library.
  • Free the Children meeting tomorrow at lunch in the Lecture Theatre. Members of Free the Children see Mrs. Sheppard for letters.
  • Red Cross meeting at lunch room 230.

    Invite a friend along and visit student services or see Ms Bovaird for more details. You will need to pick up a waiver form so you can take part – this is like your free ticket.  Space is limited…  Talk to the folks who went last year – it was a great day!

  • UPEI’s School of Engineering will be having an open house on Friday (Nov. 17) from 12 noon – 3 p.m.

Student Council Clothing Order: November 27th – December 1st

Hey Colonels, student council is having a Colonel Gray clothing order this week. We will be selling Monday to Friday, with a table set up in the cafeteria. Be sure to stop by, because this week is the ONLY chance to order.
All clothing, can have your name added to the back or shoulder at an additional cost ($5 shoulder, $10 back).

Unfortunately, at this time, we don’t have an option for parents to buy these outside of the scheduled times.

Athletics:

  • There will be no women’s basketball try-outs today. The next try-out will be tomorrow (Wednesday) from 7-9. A reminder that this is an open try-out and the numbers will determine whether we have a second women’s team this year.
  • All fall athletes need to return their uniforms to the PE department as soon as possible. E-mails will be sent home this week and the cost of the uniforms will be added to School Cash accounts. Athletes will not be allowed to participate in any school athletics until uniforms are returned.

Band:

Athletics:

  • Colonel Gray is hosting the provincial volleyball championships today. Girls play KISH at 5:30 and the boys will be playing against TOSH at 7:30. Please note that although Colonel Gray is hosting, this is a PEISAA run event. Because of this, there will be admission. Adults are $3, students are $1. If you’re planning on coming to the games this evening, please make sure you have $1 to get in.
  • Basketball try outs begin on Monday. Please check the schedule on the bulletin board in the gym for more information.

  • Little Big Band – Saxes sectional today at 12:00.

  • Grade 11 & 12 IB Relay for Life meeting at 12:00 in Mr. Cutcliffe’s room.
  • There will be a Free the Children exec meeting today at lunch in the art room.

Athletics:

  • “AAA” soccer players are reminded they need to bring in their uniforms by the end of this week.
  • Mens volleyball defeated Bluefield in three sets last night to advance to the semi-final. They will play TOSH tomorrow night at 7:30 here at Colonel Gray. Womens volleyball had a HUGE win last night against Charlottetown Rural, winning in 5 sets. They will play in the final tomorrow at 5:30 against KISH here at Colonel Gray. Come on out Colonels and support!
  • Reminder that basketball try-outs begin on Monday. The schedule is posted on the bulletin board in the gym.

Band:

  • Senior Jazz –  Friday 7:45am
  • Little Big Band – Saxes sectional – today at 12:00 noon.
  • For craft fair sign up, please go see Evence Wang, or Tessa Hood this Tuesday and Wednesday at lunch in room 116.  You can sign up for 3 hours right now. For additional hours, please go see Evence and Tessa this Thursday and Friday at lunch in room 116.

Athletics:

  • Good luck to our volleyball teams playing in the semi-finals today. Girls are at Rural at 530, boys host Bluefield at 5:30.
  • Colonel Gray Basketball try outs will begin next week. Please check the schedule in the gym for dates/times.
  • We’re looking for some volunteers to work the door at volleyball provincials on Friday after school. Please see Mrs. Lindsay if you are interested.
