  • This year’s first Gray Fit class will be this Thursday at 3:30 in the wellness Centre.  Until the end of October classes will run on Thursdays only.
  • Today is an open meeting for all students wanting to participate in student council, come to room 213 at 11:45 if you want to join council.
  • Math Club will be today at lunch in room 244, bring your lunch!
  • Free the children meeting on Thursday.
  • There will be a MANDATORY boys baseball meeting at 11:40 in the gym. If you are unable to make the meeting you need to see Mr. Gregory.
  • “A”girls soccer will practice today from 330-5 here at Colonel Gray.
  • Yesterday in athletics our AAA mens soccer defeated Rural 4-0, while our AAA womens soccer lost 8-2. Our A mens soccer team won 5-3 against Rural. Women’s volleyball lost a close battle with Rural and lost in four sets, and our field hockey lost 4-0.
  • Athletes are reminded to get their forms in if they have not already- they will not be able to play in their next game without returning their forms. Fees can be paid at the office, to Mrs Lindsay or online through School Cash.
  • There is new music for the Gr. 11/12 concert band, and new music for the senior jazz band.  Please pick up music from Mr. Fitz.  Also, rehearsal for both bands will begin next week.  Stay tuned for more details.
  • Important Duke of E meeting on Wednesday at lunch. All are required to attend. Please bring signed permission forms and fees to the meeting.
  • Fact: Terry Fox stopped his run in Thunder bay, Ontario.  After running almost 4,000 kilometers on one healthy leg.
  • Congratulations to the Cross Country team for successfully defending their home turf in last weekend’s Battle at Brookvale. Both the men’s and women’s teams won their respective divisions. The women were led by Emma Germain, who claimed second place, and the men swept the podium led by Nick Robertson’s new course record and followed closely by Samuel Peterson and Tyler Johnston. There are still spots available on the team. If interested, see Mr. Peterson in Student Services.

  • KEY Club will meet in room 140 at 11:40. All are welcome.
  • There will be No Golf Meeting today.
  • Free the Children meeting on Thursday.
  • Welcoming Committee meeting tomorrow at lunch, everyone is welcome!
  • Math Club meeting tomorrow at lunch in room 244. Please come join us if you want to improve your mathematical problem solving skills.
  • Have you saved a life today? The kick-off meeting for the new Colonel Gray Red Cross Club will be held this Wednesday in room 230. All students are invited to attend and cookies will be provided…see you there!
  • Meet our teams in the cafeteria at lunch today and get ready to cheer at the games against the Rural.
  • Today is a big day in Athletics with 6 of our fall sport seasons kicking off.
    AAA men and women’s soccer host Rural at 5
    A mens soccer plays at Rural at 5
    Women’s volleyball hosts Rural at 5, and men’s volleyball hosts Rural at 7
    Women’s field hockey host Rural on the Cornwall turf at 3:40.
  • Tuesday is an open meeting for all students wanting to participate in student council, come to room 213 at 11:45 if you want to join council.
  • Good luck to all of our teams and a reminder that ALL forms must be in to Mrs. Lindsay or your coach before you’re allowed to play today.
  • The Battle at Brookvale was a great success on Saturday, with our teams bringing home both banners. Congratulations to Nick Robertson who set a new course record of 18:10.

  • For students interested in Entrepreneurship, Junior Achievement will have a table set up today at lunch to talk with students who are interested in the after-school Company Program.
  • For those students interested in the Anime club – there will be a meeting in Student Services Monday at lunch.  Everyone is welcome.
  • Any Grade 10, 11 or 12 students interested in being on this year’s Colonel Gray Golf Team, please see Mr. Cox in Student Services right away. The team needs male and female golfers.
  • Could ALL boys playing “A” soccer please see Mrs. Lindsay today to get a permission form, which needs to be passed in before you can play Monday’s game.
     “A” girls soccer try outs will be today at 3:45 at Co-op field.
     Please note that “AAA” women’s volleyball practice will be from 4:15-5:15 today after school.
     All athletes who play Monday (AAA soccer teams, A men’s soccer, field hockey and volleyball) are reminded that permission forms MUST be passed in to Mrs. Lindsay or your coach before you are able to play.
  • “AAA” girls soccer will be getting their uniforms at lunch time, please see Mrs Lindsay for this.Gray vs Rural volleyball, soccer and field hockey- Monday…meet the team in the cafeteria during lunch.

  • Spirit day Monday wear gray & burgundy to support our soccer , volleyball  & field hockey teams…all laying the Rural. Meet the teams in the cafeteria on Monday at lunch as well. Bring your Colonel Spirit!!
  • In athletics:
    Reminder for students to check in the gym for updated team lists and schedules for those particular teams.
    “A” men and women’s soccer try outs will go today at 3:45 at Co-op field.
    Both “AAA” soccer practices will be at Colonel Gray field
    Any girls who are interested in trying out for the A women’s soccer team are asked to come to a meeting in the gym at 11:40.
    We need volleyball score keepers for Monday’s volleyball games- the game times are at 5 & 7. This is a great way for you to get volunteer hours, please see Mrs Lindsay if  you’re able to help out.

  • Kite club: Kite Club starts today after school in room 330 see Mrs. Sheppard for more information

  • Students that travel on Bus 53 effective tomorrow,  Thursday, September 14th 2017, Bus 53 will now be picking up all stops 10 minutes earlier than previously scheduled in the morning.
  • There will be a meeting for the Free the Children executive committee tomorrow, Thursday Sept 14th at lunch in Mrs. Sheppard’s room.
  • The Duke of Edinburgh Award meeting is happening in Mrs. Lee’s room TODAY at 11:45. Bring a pen, your Duke book and your lunch.
  • For students interested in Entrepreneurship, Junior Achievement will have a table set up Thursday and Friday at lunch to talk with students who are interested in the after-school Company Program.
  • There will be a Terry Fox Run meeting in Rom 139 at 11:45. All students are invited to attend.
  • As teams are selected, and lists are posted, please check in the gym for schedules.
  • Students are reminded that cross-country and baseball are considered minor sports, which means if they are playing soccer, field hockey or volleyball they are allowed to participate in those sports as well.
  • Kaelyn White, please see Mrs Lindsay before lunch time.
  • Any girls interested in playing A soccer, there will be a meeting Thursday at 11:40 in the gym.
  • A boys soccer try outs will be Thursday after school at 3:45 at Co-op field.
     AAA girls try outs will be here at the school at 4pm, Colonel Gray field
    AAA men (list will be posted at lunch) will be at Co-Op field
  • Any students interested in score keeping volleyball, please see Mrs. Lindsay.

  • Fall sport tryouts continue today.
    Please look at the schedule in the gym so you know what time your specific sport is going at.
    One change is that the women’s volleyball will start at 4:30 instead of 5.
    Reminder for all athletes that before they are eligible to participate in athletics this year they need to settle their school cash accounts from the previous year.
    As always, any questions can be directed to the Phys Ed Department.
  • Women’s soccer try outs will take place at Co-Op field today at 4pm. Students are responsible for getting themselves there.
  • Any students interested in running cross country this fall should see Mr. Peterson in Student Services as soon as possible.  Also, there will be a meeting for all cross country runners in room 139 at 11:45 on Thursday.
  • Any Grade 10, 11 or 12 students interested in being on this year’s Colonel Gray Golf Team, please see Mr. Cox in Student Services right away. The team needs male and female golfers.
  • Anyone interested in joining a new Colonel Gray Club called Anime Club. Please see Mr. Cox in Student Services. This club is for students interested in drawing, especially cartoons.

  • 1st Terry Fox Committee meeting Today at 12:15 in room 139.  All students are welcome.
  • Want to learn to fly and make kites? Want to participate in an upcoming art festival or work with a contemporary artist? Come join Kite club! It starts this Thursday Sept 14th in room 330 See Mrs. Sheppard for more details.

  • It’s a busy day in athletics with most sports teams starting try outs after school. Please see the schedule posted in the gym on the bulletin board or across from the office with times. There will be a men’s baseball meeting today at noon in the gym. Please see someone in the PE department if you have any questions.
  • Could Daisy Hayward please see Mrs Lindsay sometime today.
  • There will be a very important meeting for all Duke of Edinburgh Award participants on Wednesday at lunch in room 140 at 11:50. Bring your lunch to the meeting.
  • Key Club’s first meeting for grade 11’s and 12’s is today at the beginning of lunch in room 140. We will be focusing on recruiting new members for our next meeting. Hope to see you there!

  • Today men’s volleyball will have their first try out, 330-530.
    The schedule for all other sports is posted in the gym and on the bulletin board across from the office.
    Please note: There will be a men’s baseball meeting Monday at noon in the gym, and cross-country trains every day after school. Please see the PE department with any questions.

Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year!

Welcome Coloneles!

School begins Thursday, September 7th at 9:00 am and ends at 3:10 pm.

Grade 10, 11 and 12 students will be directed to their block A classes when they arrive.

Once in their Block A class, each student will receive their locker,  course schedule, and school documentation.

Students will then travel with their Block A teacher to an assembly in the gymnasium.
