  • Due to the impending storm, Wednesday’s Variety Show will be canceled.  We will reschedule the show to the Wednesday after the March Break (March 29th).  Tickets that have been purchased will be honored at the rescheduled show.
  • Reminder that on Thursday, March 16 a representative from Waterloo’s Math and Computer Science Dept. will visit Colonel Gray at 11:45 in room 140. All are welcome to attend.

  • Variety Show tickets will be on sale today in the main lobby at lunch.  Tickets are $5 and there are only 170 of them.  So, if you want to see the show, buy a ticket ASAP!
  • Badminton try-outs continue this week, every day from 330-530.Yoga in the wellness room today from 330-430, all staff and students welcome.
  • If you would like to try rugby before try outs start after March break, this is the week to do it!
    Women will go today and Wednesday 530-7 and men Tuesday and Thursday at the same time. All new students welcome!
  • All basketball players are reminded to bring in their uniforms to the PE department. You are unable to move forward into another sport until your uniform is returned.
  • Congratulations to our powerlifting athletes who attending provincials in Montague on Thursday: Dustin Gertley-Gregan, Patrick Martin, Caleb Boreland & Griffen Wakelin.  Thank you to Mr. Cole for organizing.
  • Unfortunately, due to possible weather, the Free the Children 24 hour Famine that was planned for Tuesday night has been cancelled.
  • All members are asked to attend the Key Club meeting today at lunch to elect new executive members.
  • On Thursday a representative from Waterloo’s Math and Computer Science Dept. will be here at 11:45 in room 140, all interested in these programs please attend.

  • Free the children meeting for those students interested in the 24hr famine today at lunch in room 120.
  • Auditions for the Variety Show will be today @ 11:45 in the Lecture Theatre.  All participants MUST audition.  Each act will be given a maximum of 2 minutes to perform.  Also, ticket sales will start on Monday but only a maximum of 160 will be sold – first come, first served.
  • Chess club today at lunch in the library.
  • Good luck to our four athletes heading to power lifting provincials today in Montague.
    All basketball players who have not yet turned in their uniforms are reminded they need to do so as soon as possible.
  • Students who paid for Brookvale can see their PE teacher at break or lunchtime to get their refund.
  • Congratulations to our basketball athletes who have been selected as provincial all-stars. On the “A” 1st team: Emma Collicut & Sam Compton “A” 2nd team: Patrick Heffernan     “A” 3rd team: Keir Warren & Taylor MacDougall.
    For AAA:  1st team Alex Campbell, Matt Connolly & John Alex Vos:     2nd teamSophia Blanchard & Sam Strain.
  • Could all of those athletes please see Mrs Lindsay either today or early next week.

  • Yesterday was an exciting day in basketball for Colonel Gray. Our AAA girls took home a bronze medal yesterday afternoon after defeating Westisle 57-53. With 13.4 seconds on the clock, the Colonels were up by one point. Sam Strain hit a three-point shot with 9 seconds left to clinch the win. Top scorers were Frances Alvarez, Sam Strain & Rylee Connolly.
  • Our AAA boys finished with Gold after a high energy game against Charlottetown Rural. Jordan Reid had a huge game, scoring 24 points and hitting 5 three-pointers. John Alex Vos finished with 16 points, while Alex Campbell had 15 points and a game-high eight rebounds. The final score was 76-63 for Gray.
  • Congratulations to all our basketball teams on completing their seasons, and thank you to coaches for all the time and effort put in over the past four months.
  • Reminder that there will be a meeting for all girls interested in playing rugby today in the gym at the beginning of lunch.
  • Badminton try outs continue today after school at 3:30.
  • There will be a Free the Children meeting tomorrow at lunch for anyone interested in the 24hr famine.
  • Grade 10 band students need to be at the Delta no later than 12:30 in uniform.
  • There will be a short meeting tomorrow at 12:00 in Mr. MacCormack’s room(151) for all returning men’s rugby players to discuss the upcoming season.

  • Variety Show auditions will be held this Thursday at 11:45 in the Lecture Theatre.  Each audition will be given 2 minutes to preview their talent.  We will be going in order of the original sign-up.  Without an audition, you will not be performing!
  • Don’t forget to attend today’s pep rally at lunch in the gym.
  • Chess Club today at lunch in the Library.
  • Badminton tryouts will start Wednesday 3:30-5:30 and continue at the same time daily until March break. Those who ordered a t-shirt, please bring your money to practice.
  • The second Rural vs Gray event will be this Saturday, March 11th at Rural from 1-4pm. The event is dodge ball so if you want to sign up individually or sign up your team, the sign up sheet is posted on the student council door.
  • Volleyball players interested in spring league please sign up in the gym so we know if we have enough interest for a team.
  • There will be a meeting tomorrow at the beginning of lunch in the gym for all girls interested in playing rugby this year.

  • Auditions will be held this week for the Variety Show on March 15th- there’s still time to sign-up for a last minute audition.  Listen to the announcements for audition times, locations, and dates.
  • Yearbooks are being sold Wednesday in the cafeteria.
  • Dodgeball championships today at lunch: Bucks vs Marlins.
  • There will be no yoga today in the wellness center due to the staff meeting.
  • Basketball practices today: AAAW 330-5, AAAM 5-7.
  • All volleyball players interested in Spring League are asked to sign up in the gym.
  • Any grade 12 students interested in registering for the DELF who is not currently taking a French Immersion class needs to see Ms Lecours in the office by the end of the day today.

  • Last night our AAA men defeated Westisle 84-48 to move on to the Gold medal game on Tuesday. They will play Charlottetown Rural next Tuesday at 8pm at UPEI.
    Our AAA women lost to Rural in the semi-final 67-27, and will play on Tuesday at 2pm in the bronze medal game against Westisle at UPEI.
  • This afternoon at 4pm our AA boys will play in the A bronze medal game at Holland College against TOSH. Come out and support!
  • There are sign up sheets on the bulletin board on the gym for any male or female volleyball players interested in playing Spring League.
  • Today in dodgeball semi-finals: Randy’s Burger Bandits vs the Bucks, Marlins vs the Titans.
  • Little Big Band will rehearse today from 12:30-12:50.  Gr. 11/12 Band will rehearse this Monday morning. Little Big Band will rehearse next Thursday morning.
  • Today is the final day to sign up for Colonel Gray’s Variety Show on March 15th.  We are looking for a wide variety of talent, so don’t be afraid to join the 7 brave acts who have already signed up.  Auditions and ticket sales start next week.  Please see Mr. Berzins or Mr. B for more details.
  • Please join the PEI Developers Group Saturday March 4th for a Hackathan and open  data workshop. This is a free event and open to all. See Mrs. Whalley in room 235 for details.

  • Sport PEI offers Sport Scholarship awards which recognizes excellence and achievement in sport, academics and community involvement. Sport PEI in 2017 will grant three scholarships of $1000.00 each to Island student athletes. Deadline is May 17th Grade 12 students who are interested please see Mrs Lindsay for more information.
  • AAA basketball semi-finals are today at UPEI. Come out and cheer on your Colonels- boys at 4 against Westisle, girls at 6 against Rural.
  • Dodge ball semi-finals will go tomorrow with Randys Burger Bandits taking on the Bucks and The Marlins taking on the Titans. Today will be open gym.
  • Chess Club 3-2 in the library at lunch.
  • PEI Developers will be hosting a Hockathon on Saturday at the Startup Zone beginning at 8am. Please see Mrs. Whalley for details in room 235.
  • Badminton Practice Friday 7-8:30am, Sunday 4:30-6:30pm. Team tryouts start next week March 8th 3:30-5:30pm and continue everyday until March Break.

  • Hey Colonel Gray Students….  Imagine how tough it might be being a teacher with ginger hair, within the halls of Colonel Gray high school. But this tragic tale doesn’t stop there….. what if it was like your birthday, and you were turning like 45 years old ?  Ugh….. !!! 45 years old – you might be thinking stuff like – Where has your life gone? How many years until I can retire? What retirement home will I live in? So… today Colonel Gray students… considering all of the above… show the 45 year old Mr. B some empathy- Colonel Gray style, by wishing him a happy 45th birthday… maybe if you’re lucky he’ll share some 45 year old wisdom with you.

  • Our AA men play at Francois Buote tonight at 7:30. Please note this is a time change from the original schedule.
