Lifetouch Representative will be here during the lunch hour with proofs for some students who have not yet received them.  Please have your sitting fee with you, if you have not yet paid.  Those interested in Grad Photo retakes, book at this time as well.

Grade 10 and 11 students have an opportunity to participate in national math contests in February. If you are interested, please see your math teacher to sign up. If you are not currently taking math but would like to participate, see Mrs. Lee in Room 140.

There will be no intramurals today due to the AA basketball tournament.
The AA boys play at noon here at Gray against Souris.
Reminder for students to submit their dodgeball rosters to the PE department as soon as possible.

All  cast members for the Musical The Little Mermaid are to meet today at 11:50 pm in the lecture theatre .

The grade 11 IB Relay Life team is holding a bake sale today  at lunch in the main lobby. All proceeds go to the Canadian Cancer Society.

 

Today in intramurals will see Sammy P vs the Marlins up first, followed by Staff vs the Police in the second game.
We’re hoping to start dodgeball next week, but have only received two teams so far. Please submit your roster to the PE department as soon as possible. Team names must be approved and once your roster is submitted it is final.
Last night the AA girls and AAA boys split with Westisle, with the boys taking home the win.
There will be no AA boys basketball practice tonight.

  • Intramurals today: Police vs Marlins and Sammy P vs Praying Mantis.
     Wednesday Jan 11 Sammy P vs Marlins and Staff vs Police
  • The next intramural will be dodgeball. Please submit your roster to the Phys Ed department by Friday. All team names must be approved by the Phys Ed department, and once your roster is submitted it is considered final (so no changes can be made after this). Any questions, see Mrs Lindsay, Ms Currie or Mr Brazil.
  • Could Katie Hunter and Will Harrison please see Mrs Lindsay at lunch today.
  • The AA girls won a close game against Bluefield last night, winning 48-45. Emma Collicut, Taylor MacDougall & Suado Yousef were the top scorers for the Colonels. The AA boys defeated Bluefield 61-18 with Andy Killorn, Pat Hennessey and Sam Compton being the top scorers.

  • Competitive badminton court time Thursday 7am-8:30 and Sunday 10-12.
  • Chess resumes Tues & Thursday at lunch in Library Conference room instruction available.

  • Could the captain from each of the Speedball team come down to the gym at the beginning of lunch today for a short meeting.
     AAA men and women participated in the Confederation City Classic this weekend. It was a great weekend of basketball, with the boys losing a close game against Riverview in the final.
     AA men and women travel to Bluefield today, with the girls playing at 5 and the boys at 7.
  • Cafeteria special today is Cheesy chicken pasta bake with garlic toast and a side salad $5.25

Dr. Stan Kutcher: Mental Health Literacy

Parents: Session with Dr Stan Kutcher on January 11, 7:00 pm at Francois-Buote School.

CGHS Students: School Assembly January 11th, 2:00 pm school gymnasium.

This session will provide an overview of mental health and mental disorders in young people and address the common language needed to help us develop the mental health literacy that we need to effectively deal with mental health promotion, prevention and care. Please bring along any questions you may have about mental health and mental disorders in young people, as Dr. Kutcher will finish the speaking engagement with a Question and Answer session.

  • All cast members of “The Little Mermaid” are reminded that they need to get measurements taken today in room 209.  If you do not know what time you are expected to be there, you can check the sheet on the door of room 209.
  • The mens AAA basketball game that was scheduled for today at 1:30 as part of the Confed Classic has been moved to tomorrow at 3:30. The AAA girls will play Tantramar today at 3:30 as part of the tournament.
  • Due to the tournament, speedball will start back up again on Monday.
    The next intramural will be dodgeball, please listen to the announcements early next week for details.
  • Yearbook meeting today after school.
  • Senior Jazz practice tomorrow morning at 7:40
