  • This is a call to all grade 11 and grade 12 students.  Do you want the voice of your fellow students to be heard?
    Colonel Gray is looking for 2 students reps to represent the students on the District Advisory Council.  If you are interested in being the voice of students on educational ideas, please see Ms. Lecours in the main office.   This is a commitment of 3 meetings in the evening during the school year, the first one being in early October.
  • Yesterday in athletics was a big day with 6 of our teams playing.
    Women’s field hockey fell to Rural with 4-2, while our mens volleyball team defeated Bluefield 3-2.
    In soccer action against Rural, we had Mr. Brazil and his “A” boys bring home the win in his Colonel Gray coaching debut. Our AAA boys also defeated Rural 1-0, with our AAA girls tying 2-2 & our A girls losing 2-1.
  • Could Roan Saengemang & Arpan Darjee see Mrs Lindsay in the gym right after first period today.
  • Very important Cross Country meeting in room 141 today at 11:45.
  • This year’s first Free the Children meeting will take place this Thursday at 12:40 in the Lecture Theatre. All are welcome!
  • Cafeteria specials today are, sheppard’s pie & tossed salad $5.25 or pepperoni pizza & fries $5.10.

  • Over the weekend our baseball team kicked off their season with two wins. The boys defeated Souris 2-0 followed by a huge win against TOSH, 10-1.
    Today marks the first day of competition for the rest of our fall sports teams which means it’s a busy one and lots of opportunities to cheer on our Colonels!
  • Women’s field hockey hosts Charlottetown Rural at the Cornwall Turf at 3:45
    Men and Women AAA Soccer host Charlottetown Rural at 5 pm
    Men and Women A soccer are at Charlottetown Rural at 5 pm
    Men and Women AAA Volleyball are at Bluefield at 5:30 pm
    Athletes are responsible for their own transportation to all games, and all permission forms must be handed in before they step on the field.
  • Could members of the Men AAA & A soccer teams, and A girls soccer team please see Mrs Lindsay at lunch to pick up uniforms and hand in permission forms.
  • Key Club meeting in room 140 today at lunch 11:45, all are welcome!
  • A Big Thank You to all the Staff and Students of Colonel Gray for making the Terry Fox run such a huge success on Friday. Also a big thanks to the Terry Fox committee, Key Club, the teacher s who ran in the Run and our very own officer Tim Keizer for his help in keeping everyone safe.  We will have the totals from the run in the next day or so.
  • Cafeteria specials today are fettuccine alfredo with salad & garlic bread or 3 cheese pizza & wedges $5.25.

  • A reminder that we will be calling down by LAST NAME order this morning only for STUDENTS WHO MISSED getting their photo done yesterday.   The photographer will be available until the END of our lunch period today.
  • A reminder for students that missed yesterday to listen for their cue.  Thank you teachers for your patience with the interruption. Also for all staff, please make sure you drop down to the cafeteria before the end of lunch for your picture requirement for PSB ID cards.
  • There will be an Improv Club Meeting today at lunch. Everyone is welcome and scheduled meetings will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
  • A girls soccer will practice at 3:30 NOT 3 pm
    A boys soccer will practice at 3:45
    All boys playing baseball who have NOT received forms need to see Mrs Lindsay by the end of the day today in order to play in tomorrows game.
  • Free the children at Colonel Gray will start back up next week-more details about time and place will follow!
  • Terry Fun Run is Today at 2:30. Come out and enjoy the run/walk in the warm 20 degree sunshine. Teachers please let the students who raised money out of class at 2:20. The Run will begin in front of the school and will go around Victoria Park.
    Big thanks to all the volunteers and staff who helped out with the 3rd Annual Terry Fox BBQ yesterday. A HUGE thanks to Mrs. Lee once again who donated her BBQ. Over 400 hotdogs and sausages were eaten yesterday.

  • All students are asked to bring all signed form to their homeroom teachers at the latest on Monday morning at the start of the day.  We will have a 5 minute homeroom to facilitate this process.  These forms are essential for you to access various programs, field trips, etc. during the school year.
  • Notice to students – the lane in front of the school is for bussing only.
    Students are asked to get dropped off/’picked up either in the student parking lot or drop off zone nearest to the student parking lot.
    Please share this information with parents
  • Anyone interested in doing volleyball score keeping please see Mrs Lindsay at lunch in the gym.
  • Free the Children at Colonel Gray will start back up next week-more details about time and place will follow!
  • Are you interested in rap, poetry, creative writing, and performance?  If so, come to Room 219 today @ 11:45 to meet with some like-minded writers.  We’re the Mumbo Jumbo Street Slang Gang and we’ll see you at lunch!
  • A representative from Acadia University will be in Student Services over lunch TODAY.  Any students interested in more information is welcome to attend.
  • Terry Fox fact: April 13, 1982 – Canada Post issues a Terry Fox Stamp; prior to this, no other stamp had been issued until 10 years after the death of the honouree.
     Reminder of Terry Fox BBQ today are 11;40 by The gym doors.

Terry Fox Run Friday September 16th

The annual Colonel Gray Terry Fox run will take place Friday September 16th, at 2:30 pm.  Over the past several years, Colonel Gray has lead Atlantic Canadian schools  in participation and fundraising for this great cause.  A reminder that students should return ALL forms (completed or not) to their block C teacher.  Thank you to Mr. Gordie Cox and his committee of student volunteers for organizing this event.

  • Could all students please return their signed forms to their homeroom teacher by Thursday.
  • Tomorrow is the 3rd Annual Terry Fox BBQ at Colonel Gray. Thanks to Student Council, The Terry Fox Committee, and The Key Club for putting this on.  Come out and get a Terry Fox Sticker and a hot dog.
    Terry Fox Fact Of the Day: Did you know that There are 14 schools and 15 roads in Canada named after Terry Fox and that world wide, 25 countries participate in The Terry Fox Run!!
  • Boys’ baseball practice today @ 4 until 5:15 at MacRae field, if you can’t make it please see Mrs. Lindsay in the gym
    A boys soccer try out today- please attend if you are interested in playing as numbers are low

  • Please see the bulletin board in the gym for this weeks athletics schedule.
     If you’re interested in playing baseball this fall, please see Mrs. Lindsay as soon as possible
     There will be a mandatory meeting for all boys interested in playing “A” boys soccer. If you do not attend this meeting, there may not be a team due to lack of interest.
  • Free the Children at Colonel Gray will start back up next week, more details about time and place will follow!
  • All golfers (male and female) must see Mr. Cox in Student Services today as the golf season starts in a few days.
  • Student Council interviews are today, Please see Co -Presidents Matt or Dan if you already applied and don’t have an interview time.
  • The 3rd Annual Terry Fox BBQ will be held this Thursday at lunch at the main doors by the gym. All teachers and students are also welcome to come and grab a free dog.
  • Terry Fox Fact Of the Day: On December 1990 – The Sports Network (TSN) names Terry Fox Athlete of the Decade; The field included Wayne Gretzky and Michael Jordan.And on June 30, 1999 – Terry Fox was voted Canada’s Greatest Hero in a national survey.

  • The Workers Compensation Board is seeking students (two/school) for its OHS Leadership Program. Students who are selected for the program and who complete all program requirements will receive $500 at the end of the school year. If you’re in Gr. 11 or 12 and like to organize fun activities at school, check out the OHS leadership Program at www.wcb.pe.ca/OHSLeader, or contact Clare cbwaddell@wcb.pe.ca For more information, students can also check the poster across the main office.
  • Key Club Meeting today at lunch in room 140. All are welcome.
  • Xcountry today at 3:40.  All are welcome.
  • The following are athletics announcements for Monday, September 12th
    Sports teams try-outs will continue this week. Please see the schedule posted in the gym for times/locations. “A” girls and boys soccer try-outs will begin today at Co-Op Field from 3:45-5:15.
    There will be a mandatory baseball meeting today at 11:40 in the gym.
    There will be a meeting for any students interested in playing Privateers football today at 12 in the gym.
    Wrestling will continue today, Wednesday & Thursday from 5:15-7:45. All are welcome.

  • Do you have the bug for political studies?  Interested in getting involved and discussing important issues that matter to youth, the community and the country?  The Charlottetown Youth Council will provide this opportunity!  This is a valuable opportunity to work with Mr Sean Casey M.P. and make your voice heard on issues that matter for the future of PEI.  The application process closes on September 30th, 2016 and you can get the application form and further information at www.seancasey.ca

  • AAA Mens and Women’s Volleyball try-outs today from 3:30-5:30, Women’s Field Hockey 3:30-5:00
     A boys and girls soccer try-outs will start on Monday after school, 3:30-5 at Co-Op Field.
     There will also be a mandatory meeting at lunch on Monday for all students interested in playing baseball this fall.
     Wrestling will go Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from 5:15-7:45 in the Cafeteria.
     Charlottetown Privateers Football Club are having try outs Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday next week from 5pm-7pm at Orlebar field being Pizza Delight.      Any questions please see the Phys Ed Department.
  • The first KEY Club meeting is MONDAY is Room 140 at 11:45 am ALL are welcome.
     Don’t know what KEY Club is? Come check out our display in the main lobby at lunch on FRIDAY to find out more.
  • One week from today is the Colonel Gray Terry Fox Run. Forms will be available to take home today during your Block C class. Each student is asked to raise $20.
  •  Today is the last day to sign up for Student Council.  Please get your application from the Student Council Office at lunch.
  • All golfers (male and female) need to see Mr. Cox asap. in Student Services.
