Homeroom Periods – Registration – Special Day Schedule – April 14, 18 & 19, 2016

Homeroom Periods – April 18 & 19

  • Grade 12 Graduating Students are not required to attend the homeroom meeting unless they did not pick up their Progress Report at the April 14th meeting.
  • Grade 10 and 11 (non grads) students work with homeroom teachers to confirm course choices for 2016-2017
    • Students are asked to stay in their homeroom until 9:20
    • The teacher can view each student’s high school course plan on the teacher computer or if there are additional computers in the homeroom, the students can login to myBlueprint.
  • Once the homeroom teachers has confirmed the choices, the student can login to myBlueprint and submit their choices.
  • The choices are due by the end of the day on Tuesday, April 19.  The submit button is available until Friday, April 22, 2016.

9:20 – 10:30 Period 1

10:30 – 10:40 Break

10:40 – 11:50 Period 2

11:50 – 12:40 Noon Lunch Break

12:40 – 1:50 Period 3

1:50 – 2:00 Break

2:00 – 3:10 Period 4

Homeroom Period – 9:00 to 9:20 – Thursday, April 14

    • Distribute Progress Report Cards.
    • Distribute Registration and Planning Sheets that include the progress marks as well as the out-of-province credits. Students can take their Registration and Planning sheet home to use as a reference.  They can also write in their course choices so there is a paper copy of their choices.
    • Confirm that all students have logged in to myBlueprint and are comfortable with the process of entering in their course choices for 2016-2017.
    • Distribute School Cash statements. These are to be stapled to the Progress Reports.  Please make the point to students that all fees need to be paid now and must be paid prior to the end of the school year.  Grads must have a $0 balance before they are fitted for their grad gown.  Students should be encouraged to use the on-line payment option that links to our website or they can pay in the main office.

  • Speedball Intramurals Wednesday The Oysters will play The Praying Mantis, Thursday Chris’ Angels will be facing off against The D Champs.
  • There will be a mandatory girls rugby meeting at the start of lunch in Student services.
  • Any students interested in applying for a St. Dunstan’s University scholarship should see Mr. Peterson immediately in Student Services.  Applications are due at the end of the week.
  • This is an important Message for the 64 grade 12 students who signed up for the U.P.E.I. registration. U.P.E.I. will be here this Thursday night at 6:00 pm in room 103 to help you pick out your courses for next year. If you can’t attend this registration meeting,make sure you see Mr. Cox in Student Services asap.
  • Congrats to our Senior Jazz Band on their outstanding performance last evening to a sold out crowd at the Pourhouse. All money from the band chocolate sale is due by tomorrow.
  • Cafeteria specials today are 3 cheese pizza & fries $5.10, Breaded chicken caesar wrap $5, grilled cheese & soup $4.50 or meatball bowl $3.50. Today in the cafeteria, it’s Sharon’s birthday!!

  • Speedball Intramurals today will be The D Champs playing against the Staff, Wednesday The Oysters will play The Praying Mantis.
  • There will be a Space Disco Club today at 11:50 in room 244, today’s theme is all dressed chips.
  • Any students interested in applying for a St. Dunstan’s University scholarship should see Mr. Peterson immediately in Student Services.  Applications are due at the end of the week.

  • Speedball Intramurals begin today with Chris’ Angels playing against The Oysters
    Tuesday will be The D Champs playing against the Staff.
  • Congratulations to the girls high school hockey team winning the provincial banner this weekend.  It was a great game that the girls won on the 7th shooter in the shootout. The boys lost 4-2 to Bluefield in the final, Micheal Favier was the MVP.
  • Badminton team members who are not at a tournament will be at practice 3:30-5:30 Mon, Tues, Thurs, & Fri.
  • The Euclid math contest for grade 12 students will be written Tuesday at 9 am in the library.
  • Any Grade 10 or 11 students interested in applying for Sears Scholarships for Summer Acting, at the Watermark Theater in North Rustico,  should check the scholarship bulletin board in Student Services.
  • There will be an IB Parent and Student Information Session on Tuesday, April 12th at 7:15 p.m. in the school library for those interested in enrolling in the IBDP for grade 11/12.   Information about the program and the registration process will be provided at that time.
  • Cafeteria specials today are Open-face hot chicken sandwich & fries, meatball sub & fries, pepperoni pizza & fries $5.10 or crispy chicken caesar wrap $5.00.

  • Senior Boys Badminton will now be in playing in Souris on Monday, please see Mr. Harkness
  • Speedball Intramurals begin on Monday with Chris’ Angels playing against The Oysters.
  • Any Students interested in competing in a ‘My first Triathlon’ please see Mr. Harkness.
  • Boys hockey team beat Kish 3-1.  Michael Favier, Matt Dibacco, and Keir Warren scored for the Gray.
  • Little Big Band will rehearse today at lunch with all of its members.  Monday’s rehearsal is canceled, but Senior Jazz will rehearse on Monday morning instead.
  • The U.P.E.I. registration will not be held today for the 64 students who signed up.  The meeting will be next Thursday night at 6:30 at Colonel Gray.  More information will be announced next week. If you would like to go out and register at U.p.E.I. before next Thursday, please see Mr. Cox in Student Services for contact information.
  • Welcoming Committee will be meeting today in room 116, everyone is welcome.
  • Students travelling to Bridgewater for the IB conference are reminded to hand in their registration form today to Mrs. Ronahan.
  • Any Grade 10 or 11 students interested in applying for Sears Scholarships for Summer Acting, at the Watermark Theater in North Rustico,  should check the scholarship bulletin board in Student Services.  Five PEI students will have the opportunity to attend a two-week acting camp for free.  The deadline for applications is April 15th.
  • Cafeteria specials are Meat pasta bowl $3.50, 3 cheese pizza and fries $5.10, BBQ chicken on a bun and fries $5.10, Mexican chicken wrap $5.00.

  • Could the AA Girls basketball team please stop in to the art room today at lunch for a quick meeting.
  • Little Big Band will rehearse Friday at lunch, but Monday’s rehearsal is canceled.  Senior Jazz will rehearse on Monday morning instead.
  • The Mumbo Jumbo Street Slang Gang meets today at lunch in the Lecture Theatre. All members are expected to attend!
  • Welcoming committee will be meeting in room 116 tomorrow, we will be discussing executives for next year and upcoming potluck. All are welcome!
  • Cafeteria specials today are Grilled cheese & soup $450, Meatball bowl $3.50, BBQ pizza & wedges $5.10, Mexican chick wrap $5.00.

  • Today is the last day for all grade 12 students who are planning on going to U.P.E.I. next year, must come to Student Services right away and sign a sheet for registration of courses.
    U.P.E.I. will be at Colonel Gray this Friday, April 8th at 11:40. You have to attend that meeting if you are planning on going to U.P.E.I. in September. So be sure to go to Student Services before 12:30 and sign up today.
  • A Mircale Minute for Easter Seals will be Friday morning. Bring your change to make a change to help Island kids with special needs!
  •  U.P.E.I. will be at Colonel Gray this Friday, April 8th at 11:40. You have to attend that meeting if you are planning on going to U.P.E.I. in September. So be sure to go to Student Services before 12:30 and sign up today.
  • Any teams still interested in submitting a team for Speedball intramurals you have until this Thursday.  This thursday will see the D Champs playing against the Praying Mantis at 11:50.  Full league schedule will begin on Monday.
  • The Boys Hockey team won 2-1 over K.I.S.h. last night . Peter Keedwell had 2 goals and Alejando Frangos was stellar in nets.
  • There will be a quick meeting today at 11:45 today in room 139 for anyone interested in playing for the Colonel Gray Girls Softball Team.
  • Cafeteria specials today are chicken nugget & fries, fries with the works, sweet & sour chicken on rice $5.10

  • The girls hockey team won their 1st game last night defeating Bluefield 5-2, next game is Thursday in Pownal.
  • The Colonel Gray Boys Hockey team lost their 1st game of the High School Tournament 2-1 to Bluefield yesterday.  Michael Favier scored the only goal for the Gray and Matthew Halliwell played a strong  in nets.

  • Mikinduri Children of Hope charity is seeking student and adult volunteers on May 5, 6 and 7th for a major fundraiser at the East Link Centre.  For more information, please check the Employment Bulletin Board outside Mr. Cox’s office in Student Services.

Gray takes Girls Gold and Boys Silver in the KISH High School Hockey Tournament

The Rural/Gray Girls won an exciting 3-2 shoot out game to defeat Montague in the Girls Division Final.

Bluefield #2 defeated the Colonel Gray Boys 4-2 in the Boys Division Final.

Thanks to all the tournament organizers, players, coaches, refs, etc.

  • Chris’ Angels vs Daniel Lim today in intramurals speedball action, game starts at 11:50.
