  • Colonel Gray….tomorrow is Wear purple Wednesday for Family Violence Prevention Week  #stopfamilyviolence
    Please wear some purple tomorrow and show your support for families who are going through some form of family violence.
  • Do you have experience creating computer animations using Flash animating software?  Colonel Gray Skills Canada team is gearing up for provincial competitions in early March and there is an opening for an animator on our school team.  Please see Ms Bovaird for more information.  The deadline to apply is this Friday, Feb 19th.
    A reminder to students competing in other categories that the deadline to submit your forms is this Friday – Feb 19th.
  • Don’t forget to sign up for the Variety Show! All talents welcome! Sign up sheet is outside the office.

  • All Grade 11 students please see your 3 year homeroom teacher to pick up your completed report cards with the final math mark   However, because of a technical problem, all students in Mr. MacDougald’s Semester 1 Grade 11 Math course must pick up their report cards from Mr. Nabuurs in the office.
  • Today’s indoor Soccer Games 11:50 Red Mon vs. The Bulls and 12:10 You Cant touch this vs. Gunners FC.
  • Little Big Band will rehearse today at lunch.
  • Today at lunch come take a selfie with the V-day photo booth, post your pic and get a treat bag! Happy Valentine’s Day from making Ways.
  • Cafeteria specials today are bacon cheeseburger & wedges, chinese combo plate $5.10 or crispy chicken caesar wrap $5.

  • Bake Sale in the Lobby on today & Friday. All proceeds go to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
  • The Mumbo Jumbo Street Slang Gang will meet today in Room 215 at 11:45.  All interested poets, rapper, and word smiths are encouraged to attend.  We will begin the process of preparing for the provincial poetry slam in the spring.  Bring your pens, sick lyrics, and creative brains.
  • Todays indoor soccer games Goats vs. The Lamps at 11:50 and Noodles and Rice vs. Cheese Burger Bandits at 12:10.
  • New Report Cards containing math marks are available for grade 11 students. Please see your three year homeroom teacher during lunch or after school to get your report card.
  • The Variety Show sign up sheet is now posted on the bulletin board outside the office.
  • Free the Children members are to meet in the art room today for a meeting today.
  • Get your pocket change ready Colonels! Welcoming committee will have the miracle minute after lunch.
  • Cafeteria specials today are pulled pork on a bun with rice, chicken nuggets & wedges or veggie pizza & wedges $5.10

  • Safe grad meeting at lunch in Mr. MacAdam’s classroom, all are welcome!

  • Any students who are applying to University of Western Ontario and are interested in major scholarship information, please see Mr. Peterson by the end of the day.

  • Just a reminder to staff and students, there will be an expo featuring trade and tech options today in the cafeteria from 12:40 until 1:15.
  • Come on down to the Main Lobby at lunch time and send a rose to that special someone. $4 for 1 or $6 for 2. Free the Children will be delivering them on Friday.
  • Todays indoor soccer games, 11:55 Gunners FC vs. Cheese Burger Bandits, 12: 10 Noodles and Rice vs. The Lamps.
  • ATTENTION Designers, Animators, Video-makers, Trades Students and Foods Students – Provincial SKILLS CANADA competitions will be taking place in early March.  Colonel Gray students have often won gold medals and gone on to compete at the National level.  If you have an interest in competing this year in categories of Culinary, Trades, Graphic Art, Animation or Video Production please see Ms Bovaird for an entry form.

  • Any student who hasn’t yet registered for Holland College and planning to do so, can attend the Holland College Campus Tour on Saturday between 10 am – 2 pm.   The normal $40 application fee will be waived on Saturday, but tour pre-registration is required.  More information is available in Student Services.
  • Would all of the students from Mrs. Bradley’s first semester English 621 classes, please stop by sometime today and pick up your final assessment papers!
  • Next week Colonels! Welcoming Committee is doing a miracle minute. So, don’t forget to bring your pocket change next week.
  • Reminder Colonels! Free the Children is still selling roses at lunch which will be delivered February 12th. The roses are 2 for $6 or 1 for $4.
  • There will be a meeting for all Free the Children members today at lunch in the art room. We will be discussing the Valentine rose sales and the 24 hour of famine.

  • If you are interested in attending Holland College and haven’t yet registered, plan to attend the Holland College Open Campus Tour Day on Saturday, Feb. 6,  10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Pre-registering on-line beforehand will allow your $40 registration fee to be waived.
  • Acadia University representative in Student Services today at lunch. Dalhousie University representative will be at Rodd Charlottetown tonight at 7 p.m. University of New Brunswick rep will be at Delta Prince Edward on Thursday at 7 p.m.
  • Reminder Colonels! Starting today to Friday at lunch Free the Children is selling roses for $4 each and 2 for $6! We will deliver them on Feb 12!
  • Today’s indoor soccer matches 11:55 Noodles and Rice vs. Red Mon  12: 10 Teachers vs. Cheese Burger Bandits
  • There will be no Little big band rehearsal this Friday.  Next rehearsal is Monday morning.
  • Do you like Monty Python?  Do you like murder mysteries?  Do you like silly British accents?  Well, you can witness all of these things tonight in Colonel Gray’s Lecture Theatre at 7:00 for a “most excellent” play called “The Real Inspector Hound”.  The play has 5 kissing scenes, 3 murders, and a box of chocolates.  See you there!
