  • Any grade 10 students that did not go to your homeroom meeting yesterday please see your 3 year homeroom teacher to pick up your math & literacy assessments.
  • The Field Hockey team is playing in the league semifinal game on Monday at Cornwall Turf vs Charlottetown Rural.
  • University of New Brunswick hosts “Future Student Night” at Delta Prince Edward in Charlottetown at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 29th.
  • To take advantage of admissions on the spot, students must apply, submit, and pay online at apply.unb.ca at least 48 hours before event. Transcripts and grade 12 schedule is required. Parents are also welcome.
  • Cafeteria Specials today are Sweet & Sour chicken, rice & corn $5.10 or Bacon Cheeseburger & wedgies $5.10.

Haunted Basement – Oct. 27, 28, 29, 2015

This is a scary annual event that is presented by Colonel Gray’s “free the children” group of students. Students embark on the ambitious project of creating a terribly scary experience in the Colonel Gray Haunted Basement. All proceeds go to support the work of Free the Children.

Visitor tours Tuesday through Thursday, Oct. 27 – 29, 6 to 9 p.m.

Colonel Gray Students can be terrified during their lunch break.

  • Tickets for tonight’s Halloween Dance will be sold at lunch in Ms. Fleming’s office from 11:40 – 12:15 or in the Student Council Office from 3:00-3:30. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door. Cost for a ticket is $5.  Lots of fun prizes up for grabs!  Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
  • Picture retakes will take place on Thursday, Oct. 29 on the cafeteria stage.  If students have their original proofs from September please bring this along.  Also, any students who still want to order pictures can bring their order form to the photographer on this day with no late fee.
  • Any student looking to volunteer to accumulate community services bursary hours should check the bulletin board in Student Services for additional information. The Diabetic Association needs a few students in October & November.
  • Come dance or chill at Space Disco Club today at 11:50 in room 244. Today’s club is Justin Trudeau themed.
  • Yoga club today and every Tuesday in the lecture Theatre at 11:55.
  • Cafeteria specials today are Grilled cheese & fries $4.50 or Chili bowl with caesar salad $5.10.

  • The 11th Annual Wall of Fame Cup tournament was held at the school this weekend, and the organizing committee would like to thank all the staff and students who volunteered their time and helped make the tournament a big success. We would also like to congratulate the Boys Soccer team and Girls Volleyball team who both won the Wall of Fame Cup #GrayNation
  • Colonel Gray’s version of the Canadian Student Vote Program will take place at lunch today.  Be sure to use this opportunity to make your voice heard by indicating which party you would like to see win today’s federal election. Grade 10s can vote upstairs in the English Quadrant, grade 11s by the Physics Lab and Grade 12s by the Lecture Theatre.  Get out and vote! A reminder to Mr. Peterson’s POL 621 class to have each polling station set up by 11:40.
  • Let the power of space overwhelm your soul at space disco club this Tuesday in room 244 at 11:50. Let the joys of space, disco, space disco and chips overwhelm you! All are welcome!
  • Colonels, get ready for the spooktastic event of the year. Free the Children presents you with “Grays Hotel” Haunted Basement  next Tuesday until Friday.
  • Key Club meets today at lunch.
  • There is Jesus at Gray on Wednesday in room 121. All new members are welcome!

  • AAA boys soccer team has a game at lunch starting at 11:30, all are expected to be there.
  • Welcoming committee at lunch in room 116, all are welcome.
  • Haunted Basement work for all Free the Children after school today…be there!
  • Little Big Band will rehearse today at lunch, and Monday morning at 745.
  • Once again, Colonel Gray will be taking place in the Student Vote program.  On Monday at lunch, members of the Political Studies 621 class will have polling stations set up throughout the school, so you can make your voice heard.  Results are announced nationally through the media, revealing the opinions of young people across the country.  Grade 10’s will cast their ballots in the English quadrant, grade 11’s by the physics lab and grade 12’s by the lecture theatre.  Polling stations will be open for the duration of lunch.
  • Congratulations to the Xcountry team on another outstanding season.  Coming off another outstanding finish at The Maine Festival of Champions, the team managed to recapture all four provincial championships yesterday.  This means Colonel Gray has won 15 of the last 16 provincial banners.  There were too many top-ten Colonels to mention, but special shout-outs to Tori Fitzpatrick and Luke Maiorino who brought home individual Gold and Peter McQuaid who captured a silver.  Full results will be posted in the gym.
  • Western University will be coming to Colonel Gray on Monday, October 19 from 8:30-9:30 at Student Services.  This is an information meeting for any grade 12’s who are thinking about attending Western in 2016-2017.
  • All Honor Band students pick up your music today at lunch from Mr. Jabbour.
  • All volunteers  are asked to come to the gym to pick up their tshirts today.
  • Cafeteria special today is spaghetti with meat sauce with caesar salad & breadstick $5.10 meat pizza$5.

  • Western University will be visiting Student Services on Monday, October 19th from 8:30am – 9:30am to discuss their university and answer any questions that you might have. This is there only visit of the year. All students are welcome to visit with the representative.
  • All volleyball volunteers are asked to come to the gym today at lunch for a session on scoring.
  • This afternoon (Block C and D) is the AARAO Tour (Colleges and Universities information session) at our school. The grade 11 students are asked to go to the cafeteria between 1:00 – 1:45 (Block C). The grade 12 students are asked to go to the information session between 2:00 – 2:45. All grade 11 and 12 students must attend.
  • The Colonel Gray Writing Centre is now open!
    Are you struggling as a writer or would you simply like to improve your essay and communication skills?  The Writing Centre at Colonel Gray is now open in room 129 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school.   ALL students are welcome to drop in to The Writing Centre with their drafts, questions etc.  No appointment is necessary.
  • Tickets for next Tuesday’s Halloween Dance will be sold through Block B teachers. Teachers, there are envelopes in your mailboxes. Cost for a ticket is $5.
  • Cafeteria Specials today are Sweet & Sour meatballs over brown rice & corn $5.10 or Cheese Pizza & wedgies $5.

Haunted Basement work will continue this week for all Free the Children members after school.

Youth Parliament meeting in Mr. MacAdam’s room 116 – the following students are asked to attend: Wilson Sun, Thomas Madessis, Maria Bountonnet, Ben Langille and Grame Zink

Meeting for any girls interested in playing AAA Girls Basketball today right after the lunch bell at 11:40. All must attend. Meeting will be held in Mr. Keizer’s office down by automotive area.

Are you struggling as a writer or would you simply like to improve your essay and communication skills?  The Writing Centre at Colonel Gray is now open in room 129 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school.   ALL students are welcome to drop in to The Writing Centre with their drafts, questions etc.  No appointment is necessary. 
 
If you are not ordering your pictures using the on line method, you must have your order forms and money passed into the office no later than this Friday, October 16th.  Picture Retakes will be October 29th.

Tuesday, October 13th

The Yoga and Wellness Club will be meeting today in the lecture Theatre at 11:55.

The Key Club will be meeting today at lunch.

So you want to dance?  Feel the dance in your pants?  Then come to the Lecture Theatre today at 11:45 for an information meeting about starting Colonel Gray’s first Dance Crew!  Looking for experienced and inexperienced dancers.  All are welcome!

There is an important meeting  today for Free the Children room leaders and guides at the entrance of the basement at lunch, and haunted basement work after school is still there for everyone.
