Tree and Wreath letter

November, 2017

Dear Band Parent or Guardian,

Colonel Gray High School Band members are having their annual Christmas Tree & Wreath Sale. This is a fund raiser in which students earn “credit” towards future band trips. The credit system makes it possible for all students to participate in these trips while lessening financial strain.

We strongly encourage you to use this sale as a way for your children to earn credits while providing beautiful trees & wreaths to your family and friends. The opening date for student sales will be  November 8th and the closing date is November 25th, 2017.

Students will be selling $35 coupons for Island cultivated farm-grown balsam fir trees which can be redeemed at David Smith’s tree lot located by the ‘New” Canadian Tire store or you may cut your own tree at David Smith’s tree farm at 300 Toronto Road, Mayfield. This coupon will allow customers to select any $35 tree from the lot or farm, giving a wide variety to choose from as well as allowing them to pick up the tree at their convenience, any time between November 30 & December 19th, 2017. Band students will earn $10 credit on every tree sold.

One side of the Christmas tree coupon is the stub where students write their name (so they get the credit) and the customer information and this is returned to the Band Office with payment; the other side of the coupon, will be given to their customer to redeem at David Smith’s tree lot.

Band students will also be selling beautiful, traditional, balsam fir Christmas wreaths which are individually made on PEI from fresh balsam fir boughs, sprigs of pine, pine cone, bright velvet-like bows and holly berries. The wreaths are approximately 20″ in diameter. Wreaths will sell for $30 and students will earn $10 credit for each wreath sold.

One part of the Wreath order Form is the stub where students write their name (so they get the credit), the number of wreaths the customer wants, and the customer’s name and phone number. This stub is returned to the Band Office with payment. The other part of the Wreath Order Form should be given to the customer to bring when picking up their order. The pre-ordered wreaths will be available for pick-up on Wednesday, November 29th, from 4- 6:30pm inside the Band Room Foyer/ Gym doors.

If paying by cheque, customers should make it payable to “Colonel Gray Band”.

Please take care to ensure coupons and order forms are completed properly and that the stubs, with attached payment, are returned promptly to the Music Department Office.

We have outlined the selling process to make it easier for students to remember, but if you, your child, or their customers require additional information, please contact one of the Committee Members below or the Music Office at 368-6860 ext 249.

Thank you,

Tree & Wreath Committee
