Maine Recap

Congratulations to the Xcountry team on another outstanding showing at the Maine Festival of Champions. This is the fourth time in sixth years that one of the teams has cracked the top ten at this prestigious event, with the girls finishing 10th and the boys not far behind in 19th. This is an impressive feat considering the meet consists of 86 teams from all over New England and the Maritimes. Special shout outs to Nick Robertson for coming in 18th out of over one thousand runners in a new Colonel’s best 5km time of 16:20 and to Emma Germain for being the top Colonel Gray female runner.

Also, the momentum carried nicely into yesterday’s zone meet as all four teams finished first, qualifying for provincials on October 17th. Nick and Emma both set the pace again, finishing first in their races, as did Alexa McQuaid and Isaac McCardle in the Juvenile division. Silver medals went to Samuel Peterson and Milla MacVicar as well.   The team’s next action will take place at the St. F.X. University meet on Saturday, October 14th.
