Notices:

  • Rotary will hold an information session on the Rotary Youth Exchange program on October 22, 2018 at 7:00 PM.  The meeting will take place in the Lecture Theatre at Colonel Gray.  All parents and students interested in finding more about this great adventure are welcome.
  • For students interested in auditioning for We Will Rock You: School Edition, the sign-up sheet is now posted on the bulletin board outside the band room. Spaces tend to fill up fast, so go sign up as soon as possible.
  • Picture orders are past due into the office and recommended to be completed on line asap. Late orders placed online will be shipped to the school if placed before Nov 7th on line.  Get your orders in to avoid extra charges to your shipping.
  • Retakes are October 30th.  If you missed pictures in Sept, you will be requested to have a picture taken for your student id and our records.
  • Attention grade 11&12 students! Do you want to win a fully paid 2 day trip to Ottawa in November? You will be learning first-hand about the agricultural industry and making valuable connection in agriculture. For more information please see Ms. Aiyer in room 147.

Student Services:

  • Representatives from Queen’s University will be here today. Interested students should take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to have questions answered during these one-time-per-year Ontario university visits.
  • There is a STRIVE program scholarship/bursary sign up sheet in Student Services.  Any grade 12 student interested in being part of this program, please sign up in student services.  There will be 6 $1500 bursaries given to students at Colonel Gray.

  • Haunted Basement meeting today at lunch and after school to set up the basement. Everyone with a room needs to attend!

Notices:

  • Any students wishing to volunteer in the library before school, at noon or after school; there will be a meeting on tomorrow at 12:00 in room 115 in the library. Please eat your lunch first. These volunteer hours can be used towards the Community Bursary for university tuition.  If you have any questions speak to Mrs. Profit in the library.

Student Services:

  • All students who applied to be school-sponsored Loran applicants please meet in Student Services at 11:45 or see Mr. Peterson at some point today.

Meetings:     

  • Anyone with a room in Haunted Basement PLEASE meet in the basement at lunch and after school today to set up your rooms. We CANNOT stress how important these meetings are, so please make sure all your room members attend.

  • Any grade 12 students interested in writing the Canadian Open Math Competition on November 8th are asked to sign up in class, or see Mr. MacEwen in room 244 by Wednesday, Oct. 17th. This is not a school day, so students will need to find their own transportation to and from the school.
  • Come to Space Disco in room 244 today. This week’s theme is Neon Cowboy!

Athletics:

  • Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Volleyball teams for their wins yesterday over Montague.
  • AAA Boys soccer plays today at 5:00 here at Colonel Gray to start the Wall of Fame tournament. AAA Girls play at 5:00 at Charlottetown Rural! Come out to cheer them on!
  • Would all students who have already signed up, or are interested in volunteering for this weekend’s tournament please go to the gym at the start of lunch for a quick meeting.

Band:

Band:

 School Musical meeting today in the Lecture Theatre at 11:50. Whether you want to play in the pit band, sing on the stage, or help with the behind the scenes activities, you should attend this meeting.

 

Sports:

Everyone is welcome. Boys AAA soccer will practice today at 3.30.

 

Meetings:

 KEY Club is to go to the Art room after school to finish centerpieces.

Red Cross Club meets today at 12:00 in Room 117.

Improv Club meets today after school.

There will be a meeting for all grade 12’s interested in helping with Safe Grad on Thursday in Rm 139.

Band:

Attention all students and staff!  There will be a meeting for anyone interested in participating in the school musical this year.  Whether you want to play in the pit band, sing on the stage, or help with the behind the scenes activities, you should attend this meeting.  The meeting will be on Wednesday, October 10th in the lecture theatre.  The meeting will start at 11:50.  Everyone is welcome.

Full rehearsal schedule is up and running, please check the band Google Classroom page.  Pit Band Orchestra sign-up sheet is now up. Please consider auditioning for this band.  We are really looking for top notch piano players and guitarists this year.  You do not necessarily need to know how to read music. See Mr. Doiron if you have any questions.  This Friday at lunch there is a band social for all music students.

  • Terry Fox Trivia question for Thursday: Which brother of Terry Fox is coming to Colonel Gray on Friday to speak to students? Write your name and response on a slip of paper and put it in the box in Student Services for a chance to win prizes. Buy a bag of candy for $2 or a sucker for 25 cents – Proceeds will go toward our school fundraiser

Athletics:

  • Congratulations to everyone who ran in yesterday’s xcountry zone meet. The Colonels look poised for a strong performance at Provincials in two weeks. Also, huge shout-out to the team for their amazing performances at the Maine Festival of Champions on the weekend, which is one of the biggest meets in North America. The boys finished a very strong 19th out of over 60 teams led by a top five of Samuel Peterson, Isaac McCardle, Jack Morse, Jesse Robertson and Thomas McQuaid. The girls finished an amazing 2nd out of 58 teams led by Sophie Peterson, Grace Richard, Katie Richard, Emma Germain and Bridget Keedwell.

Band:

  • Full rehearsal schedule is up and running, please check the band Google Classroom page.

  • Pictures should be in soon and will be distributed by your block A homeroom teacher. Retakes are Tuesday, Oct 30th. Those who missed pictures earlier will be assigned a time for the pictures that we need for our files and you may want a photo id.

Student Council:
