Athletics:

  • Today in basketball action Gray1 women and men host Montague. Women play at 5:30, men at 7:15. Gray2 men will be traveling to TOSH for a 5:30 game start. The bus will leave at 3:45 from the front of the school.
  • Colonel Gray will be hosting some games as a part of the Confederation City Classic on the first weekend back after Christmas break, January 4-7th. The PE department is looking for score keepers for games being held here, please see Mrs. Lindsay if you are interested.

Band:

  • Grade 10 Band Rehearsal Tuesday morning at 8:00am
  • Both grade 10 classes will go to the band room between 12:25 and 1:40pm tomorrow for rehearsal.
  • Senior jazz bandwill rehearse tomorrow at 12:00 noon.

Notices:

  • Congratulations to Cameron Gordon who qualified for the PEI Provincial Power lifting Championships to be held in March 2018.
  • Bonjour!  A reminder to any students interested in the Quebec Exchange Program for NEXT SCHOOL YEAR to submit their applications by Dec 15th.  If you have questions, see one of your French teachers or Mme. Gallant at the office.  Merci.

Athletics:

  • Gray 1 men host Francois Buote at 5:30, Gray 2 men host Grace Christian at 7:15. We still need one score keeper for the 7:15 game, please see Mrs. Lindsay if you are able to help out.
  • Gray 2 women are playing Grace Christian at 4pm- the game will take place in the old Kent Building (now Bibles for Missions) on Allen Street.
  • Could Abby Arbing please see Mrs. Lindsay today.
  • Everyone interested in spike ball come on out to the gym during lunch on Monday, there will be a sign up sheet in the gym Monday and Tuesday for intramural spike ball starting Wednesday.

Student Council:

  • There has been a christmas tree added to the lobby, you are invited to add any and all christmas decorations and ornaments to it that you like. Merry christmas Colonels.

Student Services:

  • CNIB is an organization that offers programs and services to people who are blind and partially sighted. They are currently looking for volunteers for a number of roles ranging from phone calls, paper work, helping at fundraising events, recreational programs, etc., and working 1 – 3 hours per week. CNIB is a registered non-profit organization with the Community Services Bursary Program, and a great place for students to get volunteer hours. Check the bulletin board in Student Services for more information.

Band:

  • Senior Jazz Sectionals -Trombones is cancelled today.
  • Senior Jazz will rehearse Friday at 7:45 am.
  • Little Big Band will rehearse Friday at 12:00 noon.

Meetings:

  • Monday- Key Club Meeting in room 140
  • Relay for Life meeting tomorrow at 12:00 noon.

Notices:

  • All students going to the Sledge Hockey game are to be dismissed at 11:25 as busses will be leaving at 11:30 sharp from the front of the school.  Students should be returning to school by 2:00
  • Colonel Gray hats are now available for purchase. Visit the booth under the stairs at lunch if interested.
  • Come to Space Disco this Friday in room 244, this week’s theme is “Spice Girls”

Student Council:

  • Christmas formal will be next Thursday! Dance tickets will be available for sale next week for 5$ (7$ for non CG students) by teachers, stay tuned for more information.

Athletics:

  • All four of our basketball teams take on Rural today, with Gray1 men playing at Rural at 5:30, and Gray1 women playing at Rural at 7:15. Gray2 women host Rural at 5 and Gray2 men host Rural at 7.

Band:

  • Today at 12:00 – Rythm Section, Grade 11&12 band will rehearse Thursday at 7:45am

Notices:

  • Come to the Improv Club bake sale today at lunch to support the team in going to the Canadian Improv games. Various bake goods will be sold in the lobby.

Meetings:

  • Reminder to the Free the Children Exec, there will be a meeting today at lunch in the Art Room.

Music notes:

Wednesday at 12 noon – Rhythm Section

Grade 11 & 12 Band will rehearse Wednesday and Thursday at 7:45

Senior Jazz will rehearse Wednesday @ 3:45 – 4:15

 

Notices:

There will be a Free the Children Executive meeting tomorrow at lunch in the art room.
The Colonel Turkey dinner will take place on December 13. The cost is $6 for the full meal, including a beverage and a cookie, and that’s a great deal! You must buy your ticket in advance, from your block B teacher and the deadline is Monday, Dec 11. Please note that there will be no other hot food item served on that day.

The Youth Futures Council is currently recruiting members to fill some vacant and expired positions.  The Deputy Minister has asked that the following information be shared with high school students, and that you encourage any individuals you think might be interested in participating on this council.   Note the deadline is next Tuesday.

The winners of last week’s workplace safety challenge are Katia Hughes and Neil Kelley! You can pick up your prizes in room 213 at lunch.

Come to Space Disco in room 244 this Friday. This week’s theme is “Spice Girls”.

They are currently looking for volunteers for a number of roles ranging from phone calls, paper work, helping at fundraising events, recreational programs, etc., and working 1 – 3 hours per week. Athletics:

  • Our two men’s basketball teams participated in the Gray Cup this past weekend, with Gray1 making it to the final against Leo Hayes. Unfortunately they lost but it was a GRAYt weekend of basketball and thank you to all who participated. Thank you also to the many student volunteers and minor officials.
  • Our Gray1 women’s basketball team also participated in the Snowbird basketball tournament at Bluefield this weekend.
  • We are looking for two more scorekeepers for Wednesday night’s home games against Rural at 5 & 7 pm. If you are able to work these shifts please see Mrs. Lindsay as soon as possible.
  • Could Marcel Kiss, Abby Arbing, Brenna Simpson, Abby Hyndman, Amanda MacBain and Maddy Murphy please see Mrs. Lindsay sometime today.

Band:

Athletics:

  • On Wednesday night our AAA women’s basketball team won their first game of the regular season on the road against Montague 79-41.
  • Volunteers and minor officials for the Gray Cup are reminded to check the schedule posted in the gym for shifts. Please be at your shift a minimum of 30 minutes before it starts.
  • Students are reminded they are unable to attend basketball games during the school day unless their teacher brings them down. Students with frees can not watch the games either.

Band:

  • Little Big Band will rehearse today at lunch.

Notices:

  • Interested in learning more about why our planet is so flat? Come next week to a secret location to discuss this magical mystery with the rest of the Flat Earth Society. Listen to next week’s announcements for more information.

  • There will be another try-out for our second women’s basketball team tomorrow (Wednesday) from 330-5. Athletes should be checking the schedule posted in the gym as well for changes and updates to practices.
