  • Attention Graduates: Mr. MacDougald requires an ELECTRONIC COPY of your GRAD photo THIS WEEK.   IF you had someone other than Lifetouch take your grad photo, or if you went to Lifetouch LATE, PLEASE make sure you confirm with Mr. MacDougald (ROOM 152) NO later than the end of this week.
  • Student lockers are to be completely cleaned out, doors left open and locks locked onto the hasp. Reminder a $10 fee will be added to student accounts at the office for missing locks and for lockers not cleaned by that were assigned to you.
  • Any Art Student who was contacted by Ms Bovaird, about having a winning entry in the BUTTON contest at the Confed Centre, but who has not yet picked up their prize, please see Ms Bovaird before the end of this week!  There are 2 unclaimed prizes up for grabs.
  • The final noon show is today at lunch, guests include Jake, Brett Sanderson, Tanuj, Linda and a special interview with the noon show actor Frank Ortenburger.

  • The Drama 621 class will be putting on a production of Mmmbeth – a parody of the Shakespearean play, MacBeth.  Classes are invited to attend during Block C today and also on Thursday night at 7pm in the Lecture Theatre.
  • Women’s rugby brought home the AA provincial banner last night, defeating Bluefield 17-14. Congratulations ladies!
    Men’s rugby lost a close game to Montague, 8-5 to bring home silver.
  • Reminder that the athletic banquet is tomorrow at 5pm in the gym. All student-athletes will have the $10 ticket cost added to their school cash accounts.
  • Softball, track & spring volleyball players are reminded they need to bring in their uniforms by the end of this week.
  • Graduates:This year for the first time, Sandspit is opening it’s food venues for students to purchase meals or treats.  Ms. Profit is selling vouchers for these items along with the prom tickets, so if you think you will want something to eat while at Sandspit, please purchase vouchers before the end of the day on this THURSDAY!

  • Colonel Gray will host the AA rugby championships today, with the women playing Bluefield at 5 and the men playing Montague at 6.
  • The annual Colonel Gray Athletic Banquet will be this Wednesday, June 7th at 5pm in the gym. All athletes and coaches are encouraged to attend to celebrate our year in sport. All student-athletes will have the $10 ticket cost charged to their school cash accounts.
  • All rugby players who still owe on hoodies are asked to have their money in by Friday to Mrs Lindsay.
  • Congratulations to the Track and Field team on a fantastic performance on the weekend.  All four teams won provincial banners.  Individual provincial champions include Emma Germain, Bridget Keedwell, Tori Fitzpatrick, Jacqueline McQuaid, Sarah Murphy, Teddy Robbins, Samuel Peterson, Tyler Johnston and Eason Wang.  Special congrats to the juvenile men’s and women’s 4 x 100 teams and the juvenile men’s 4 x 400 team for breaking provincial records and to both Emma Germain and Samuel Peterson for breaking two provincial records each.  All athletes are reminded to return their uniforms and cleats to Mr. Peterson ASAP.
  • Any grade 10 and 11 students who are interested in learning more about a major scholarship opportunity should meet in room 139 at 11:45 tomorrow.

  • Student lockers are to be completely cleaned out, doors left open and locks locked onto the hasp by Wednesday, June 14th.  Home room teachers will be verifying your cleaned out lockers.  A $10 fee will be added to student accounts at the office for missing locks and for lockers not cleaned by the deadline of Wednesday June 14th.
  • There will be a full Safe Grad Committee meeting today, Friday, at 12:00 noon in Mrs. Bradley’s room 210.  All undergrad members are needed to attend today.
  • Please note that the last day of cafeteria services will be Thursday, June 8th which is the last day of classes.
  • Today is the last day to submit your sign up sheets for student council. The sheets are posted on the student council door and are to be returned to Kristi Stewart, Connor Crosby or Mr. Cox in student services by the end of the day.
  • Any track athletes who aren’t sure when they compete, either today or tomorrow, should see Mr. Peterson in Student Services.
  • Reminder of important meeting for all senior men and women who are taking part at track provincials in room 139 at 11:45.
  • Any grade 10 or 11 students who are interested in a major scholarship opportunity should meet in room 139 on Tuesday at 11:45.  A representative from the Moorehead-Cain scholarship will be hloding an information session at that time.
  • Congratulations to the Colonel Gray Girls Softball team for winning their third straight Provincial Championship, a 9-1 victory over Westisle. Winning pitcher was Sydney Halliwell. Top batters were; Sara Murphy, Margaret Reynolds, Kaelyn White, Emily Waugh and Amanda McBain.

  • Today our women’s softball team travels to Kensington for Softball Championships, semi-final game at 2pm.
  • Last night the men’s A rugby team brought home a bronze medal from Summerside. Congratulations on a great season and thank you to coaches Joel Dennis and Alex Ellsworth. Also thank you to A women’s coaches Michael Clory, Craig Campbell and Jenny Campbell. The A women finished their season on Monday.
  • Reminder of the charity yoga class tomorrow here at Colonel Gray at 330-430. The class will be outside provided the weather is good, if not we will be in the Wellness Center. Bring your own mat, suggested $10 donation. All funds raised go to Days for Girls.
  • All rugby players who ordered hoodies are reminded they need to bring $7 to Mrs Lindsay as soon as possible.
  • The Girls Softball team won their quarter final game yesterday over Kinkora 13-3. Emily Waugh pitched the win. Good luck to the girl’s softball team as they travel to Kensington today for the Semi Finals and Finals.

  • The PEI Trucking Sector is looking for students (Grade 10-12 and post-secondary) to work this summer. They pay $12.50 per hour for a 40 hour week.  Check the job bulletin board in Student Services for more information.
  • Reminder to all graduates to make sure you fill in a green final transcript sheet, in Student Services, before writing final exams.  Also, bring in a copy of all accepted scholarships/bursaries so that they can be recognized at the graduation ceremony.
  • Little Big Band’s last rehearsal today at 11:50.
  • The men’s A rugby team will be leaving for Summerside today at 2pm to play in the provincial championships.
  • Women’s softball host Kinkora at 430 at Kiwanis field in a provincial quarter-final.
  • All rugby players who ordered hoodies are reminded they need to bring $7 to Mrs. Lindsay as soon as possible.

  • The gym will be closed this week in the mornings as students are making up fitness assessments.
  • This FRIDAY from 3:30-4:30 there will be an outdoor yoga class (rain location: Wellness Center) here at the school in support of Farmers Helping Farmers and Days for Girls. Money raised will be used to produce feminine hygiene kits for girls in Kenya so they don’t have to miss days at school. It’s a suggested donation of $10 for the class. You don’t need any experience with yoga but please bring a yoga mat or a towel.
  • If you’re interested in becoming more involved with your school community and helping contribute to global change  you can join the Free the Children executive next year! Check out the Free the Children facebook group or talk to Thomas Wagner.
  • The Library is having a used book sale today. Proceeds go towards new books. Come find some treasured book. Prices are 25 and 50 cents.

  • All grade 12 students are to go to their D block (last period) today then to the Lecture Theatre. This is to select the valedictorian and discuss various items of importance for the upcoming month.
  • Any students who have prepaid for a yearbook, please come to the main office to get your money back. There was not enough student interest to create a yearbook for this year.
  • Men’s softball play Bluefield today at 5:00pm, Terry Fox field in Cornwall. A women host Rural today at 5:00pm in 1/4 final action.
  • A schedule for play-offs will be posted in the Colonel Gray Athletics Facebook page by the end of the day today.
  • Don’t forget Graymies are tomorrow at 7:00pm! Be there or square!

  • 2017 Grad T-shirts will be on sale today through to Thursday in the cafeteria and the main lobby. Place your order before the end of the day on Thursday if you want a t-shirt.  The cost of the t-shirts is $10.00. No late orders will be taken.
  • Reminder that summer school registration is now open.  Stop by the office and register with Mr MacAdam or one of the counselors in student services.
