Athletics:

  • ATHLETIC BANQUET – tomorrow, June 8th at 6 PM in the gymnasium.  Team awards, other major awards and athletes of the year to be named.
  • Congrats to the Colonel Gray Girls Softball team who defeated Three Oakes on Wednesday 8-6 to win their fourth straight Provincial Championship.
    Top batters were Sydney Halliwell with a home run and Morgan White.  Also congrats to the 8 graduating players especially pitcher Margaret Reynolds who struck out 21 batters today over two 11 innings and was the team MVP for the tourney.
  • Any track and field or cross country athletes who would like a team jacket, please see Mr. Peterson by tomorrow to finalize the order.

Free the Children:

  • Would the students who have applied to be part of the Free the Children executive for next year please attend a brief meeting at 11:40 on Thursday in Mrs MacCorquodale’s room 120.  If you are unable to attend, please see Mrs MacCorquodale or Ms Arbing at some point this week.

Graduates:

  • Reminder!!! today is the last day for $15 Prom bracelets in the Library, after today the cost goes up to $20.
  • Send pictures of you and your friends from over the years to be in the prom slideshow to 2018cgprom@gmail.com.

Meetings:

  • Full executive Safe Grad meeting today at noon in Mrs. Bradley’s room.

Notices:

  • It’s a great day to clean out your locker at lunch today! Reminder, hand in your clearly labeled lock to your block A teacher by the end of the day tomorrow.  If you did not have a block A first semester, you hand it in at the main office.  There is a 10$ fee added to your school cash for locks you were assigned that are not handed back in.
  • Last day for Y11 IB English book pick-up.  8:40 – 8:55 and 3:15 – 3:30
     Incoming Y11 IB Physics students are reminded to send an email to Mrs. Ronahan confirming their intention to study this course.
     Looking for volunteer opportunities this summer?  See Tyler Larter or Mrs. Ronahan for details about the new YCAN Program.
  •  Today the Global Issues group will be selling cookie dough and cookies to raise money for mental health by the band doors, the price will be $1 per scoop and $1 per cookie.

Student Services:

  • By tomorrow, graduates are asked to please bring in to Student Services a photocopy of all accepted university/college scholarships, as well as awards from outside agencies. Unfortunately, many students, in the past, neglected to look after this detail. Help us recognize and celebrate all well-earned accomplishments at the graduation ceremony. Grads are reminded to also pass in their GREEN final transcript form to Student Services too.

  • Rugby  “A ” Girls  vs Rural in the bronze medal game at 3:00 today at UPEI. “AAA” boys vs Rural in the bronze medal game at 4:15 on today at UPEI.
  • Softball  Girls play in semifianl Wednesday at 1pm in Summerside, championship immediately following at 3pm.

Athletics:

  • Congratulations to the track and field team who braved extreme weather conditions on the weekend, capturing both senior provincial championships.  Special shout out to individual provincial champions Bridget Keedwell, Emma Germaine, Deborah Akinsola, Emma Christensen, Isaac McCardle, Noah Duckworth, Patrick Young, Nick Robertson, Kee Naw and Tyler Young.  Please have all uniforms and cleats returned to Mr. Peterson by Friday.
  • Rugby  “A ” Girls lost to Rural by 2 points. “AAA” Girls lost by 3 points to Westisle, they will face Rural in the bronze medal game at 3:00 Wednesday at UPEI. “AAA” boys lost 27-7 to TOSH, they will face Rural in the bronze medal game at 4:15 on Wednesday at UPEI.  Today  “A” Boys Semifinal vs Bluefield 3:30 at Bluefield
    “A” Championships at 6:00 and 6:45 at Bluefield.
  • Softball defeated KISH 5-1, they will play in semifianl Wednesday at 1pm in Summerside, championship immediately following at 3pm.

  • Safe Grad committee will be selling t- shirts in the cafeteria at lunch for $12, along with raffle tickets for the gift basket.

  • There will be a clothing drive happening until tomorrow outside student services. Please bring in any gently used clothing you no longer need to support  a good cause.
  • Students going into grade 11 IB will be picking up their Y11 English Books from Mrs. Ronahan’s office this week.  Please see the IB office door for distribution times.
  • IB students who are planning to take IB physics next year are asked to attend a short information meeting on Wednesday from 11:45 – 12:05 in the library.  If you are unable to attend, please see Mrs. Ronahan at some point before June 8th.
