Athletics:

  • Reminder to all rugby players to get their forms & uniform fees in ASAP.
  • Grayfit will run today with a special guest. Today will be the only day of Grayfit this week.
  • Girls softball tryouts will be tomorrow and Friday, girls please meet at the gym at 3:30.

Band:

  • Congratulations to the Dr. Strum and the Grade 10 band who not only performed brilliantly, but they also brought back GOLD for Colonel Gray.
    Another big congratulations to the Senior Jazz Band who had the adjudicators raving about their performance. They also brought home GOLD.
    A big shout out to all the soloists who played so well at the festival, and a special congrats to Arjun Kundu who won a Long and MacQuade outstanding soloist award.

Meetings:

  • Womens rugby meeting at lunch today in room 213, all girls playing rugby this year MUST attend.
  • Key Club meeting today in room 140, all members please attend.

Notices:

  • A reminder to students and teachers to please hand in your forms to Mr. MacDougald by Wednesday if you want to participate in the triathlon.  Late submissions will not be accepted.

Athletics:

  • Softball meeting today in the gym at 12:15.
  • There will be a brief AAA Boys Rugby meeting in Mr Rowe’s room at the start of lunch.
  • Congratulations to the following athletes who medalled in their respective weight categories at the recent provincial power-lifting championships. Cameron Gordon – Bronze, Liam MacDonald – Silver, Justin Chandler – Gold, Griffin Wakelin – Gold. You can pick up your medals from Ms. Currie.
  • Reminder to staff and students to hand in your forms for the triathlon by Wednesday to Mr. MacDougald.

Band:

  • All Grade 10 band students who are not on the Halifax trip please go to Gym class with Mr. Duffy during D block for today.

Meetings:

  • Red Cross Club meeting in the Library at the beginning of lunch.

Notices:

  • The Safe Grad Committee is hosting a Spring Fling Variety Show on Thursday, May 17th at 7:00 p.m.  Students are invited to sign up to audition for a role in the show on the poster outside the Student Council’s office before Monday, April 30.  Audition date to be announced for the following week.

Band:

  • All Grade 10 band students who are not on the Halifax trip please go to Gym class with Mr. Duffy during D block for today and tomorrow.

  • There will be a full Safe Grad meeting today in Mrs. Bradley room 210 at noon.  Everyone please attend.

Notices:

  • Congratulations goes out to all performers at last night’s provincial poetry slam. A huge congratulations to the overall winner, Cat MacCannell, and second place contestant Madison Lockman. Also, Nicole Lukeman and Lily Levesque won prizes for their performances.

  • We are looking for students to help make a CD designed to assist Newcomers to learn English. Is English your first language? Would you like to make $20 an hour just for reading? In exchange for just 2 hours of reading a prepared text, you could make $40 cash. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Mann in the Learning Centre for details.

  • Any student or teacher who is interested in participating in the school triathlon in May are asked to come to a quick info meeting today in room 152 at the beginning of lunch.  Forms are due in two weeks and late entries are not accepted.  If you can’t make the meeting please see Mr. MacDougald.

Band:

  • Reminder of the concert this tonight in the Lecture Theatre at 7pm.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  The following bands are playing:  Little Big Band, R and B Band, 9 O’clock Lab Band, Senior Jazz Band.
  • Friday 7:45am Full Band  11:50am Percussion Sectional

Meetings:

  • The Mumbo Jumbo Street Slang Gang will meet today in the Lecture Theatre at 11:45. All poets wishing to perform in the provincial poetry slam next week MUST attend.

  • There will be a bake sale today at lunch in the main lobby for Easter seals! Bring some change and get some sweet for a good cost!
  • Students from KEY Club, Student Council and the learning center will be collecting change for Easter Seals right after the announcements tomorrow. Bring $$ and support our students with disabilities right here on PEI.
  • Reminder that entrance to the school for visitors and students will be through the main entrance on Spring Park Road and the student door located on the south side of the building (student parking lot side).
