Athletics:

  • Intramural dodge-ball today 11:50 Staff Snipers vs Spooky Tree Sharks, 12:10 Rocky Balboas vs Gamblers.
  • Could all players planning to participate in the School Hockey Tournament please get their money in to Mr. Gregory in room 116!!  We need confirmation that you are planning to play, as well as the money for the tournament and jerseys.  This needs to be in by Wednesday (tomorrow), as we are ordering jerseys on Thursday.

Band:

  • Please get your trip forms and money in ASAP.
    Wednesday – Grade 11/12 Band (Pick up the new music beforehand); Little Big Band – Lunch (12 noon)

  • Are you planning to attend UPEI next year?  If so, on Thursday after school, you will have the opportunity to meet with UPEI staff, here at Colonel Gray, and choose your courses for next year.  Please sign up in Student Services for this wonderful opportunity.

  • Intramural dodge-ball today 11:50 Dirty Oysters vs Currie’s Crushers, 12:10 Loose Cannons vs Rocky Balboas.

  • UPEI Best Buddies is having a fundraiser on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the UPEI gym from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.  All money raised is to help create opportunities and friendships for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. How Hoopin’ It Up works: It is a basketball type fundraiser. Participants pay $2.00 for 60 seconds to sink as many shots as possible. Prizes can be won.

Student Council:

  • Keep an eye out for the sign-up sheet outside the Student Council office for the Colonel Gray Spelling Bee on March 21st.

  • Health Career Conference
    Interested in working in the healthcare sector? Then you will not want to miss this event!
    On Wednesday, March 21st, the UPEI Pre-Med Society will be hosting a “Health Career Conference” in Don and Marion McDougall Hall (Room 242) from 6:00-8:00pm. The theme of this evening is “Informing the Next Generation of Healthcare Workers” and the conference will showcase different health professions, shed light on current healthcare issues, and educate students and community members interested in a career in healthcare about the realities of working in the healthcare system.
    There will be four exciting presentations by influential healthcare workers that you won’t want to miss if you are considering working in the healthcare system.
    6:00-6:30 – Sheila MacLean – Health Recruitment
    6:30-7:00 – Roseanne Sark – Aboriginal Health
    7:00-7:30 – Dr. William Montelpare — Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research
    7:30-8:00 – Dr. Kim Critchley the current Deputy Minister of Health and Wellness for PEI

  • A team of educators and community members are organizing a March Break Camp for Junior High students in Charlottetown using various art forms with the Moral Empowerment framework.  High school student volunteers are required, with training provided, as well as given credit for the hours worked through the Community Service Bursary.  Interested Colonel Gray students should check the Job Postings bulletin board in Student Services.

  • There will be a Safe Grad meeting today, Thursday, March 15 at 12:00 noon in Mrs. Bradley’s room.  Bring your lunch and come along.
  • D-con meeting at lunch in room 140, all members please attend.

  • Would you be interested in doing a newspaper delivery route for one month only, starting right away?  The route is Devar Court, Kirkwood Dr, Queen St. and Pond St.  It takes about one hour in the morning, six days a week, and you would earn $150 for the month.  Papers have to be delivered by 7 a.m.  If interested, please check in Student Services.

Athletics:

  • Intramural dodge-ball today at 11:50 Spooky Tree Sharks vs Rocky Balboas and 12:10 Loose Cannons vs Currie’s Crushers.

Band:

  • Today is a go, but the buses will be at Colonel Gray for transport to the Delta at 1pm, instead of 12pm.
    PLEASE spread the word.  Here is the schedule for the afternoon.
    If you have uniform issues, please see me, or Dr. Strum sometime this morning.
    Here is Wednesday’s Schedule:
    1:50 – QC 9
    2:20 – Gray 10
    2:55 – Bluefield 10-12
    3:30 – Gray 11-12
    It would be great if the grade 10s stayed an supported the 11/12s if they can.
    Parents will be responsible for picking up students.

Band:

  • There will be two buses here Wednesday at noon to take you down to the Delta.  The buses will be leaving no later than 12:15.  You should either have your uniform on, or you can bring it with you.
    Please make sure you have the following with you this Wednesday: uniform, instrument, and music.

Meetings:

  • For all Peer Helpers:  Block meetings will be held tomorrow Wednesday. In the event of a cancellation they will be held on Thursday.

Athletics:

  • Intramural dodge-ball will begin Friday. Tomorrow will be a dodgeball game for anyone interested in playing.
  • Congratulations to the following basketball players who earned league All-Stars: John Alex Vos, Jon MacKenzie, Joe Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Francis Alvarez, Rylee Connolly, Sam Strain, Helena Vos, Sal Farag, Patrick Heffernan and Jordan Khan.
  • This Friday…early morning badminton club has been canceled.

Notices:

  • Grade 10 Art students from first semester are asked to check their Gmail regarding an upcoming event they are invited to attend.
  • Show us what you know about workplace safety in a short video (2 mins), and you could win $1000 for yourself and $1000 for your school. The P.E.I. winner will be automatically entered into a national Youth Video Contest for a chance to win more. Contest is open until March 30th, so time is drawing close to pull your entry together. Check in Student Services for more information.

  • On Friday, March 9th, starting at 8:30 a.m., interested students can visit Acadia University for Experience Acadia Day.  There will be opportunity  to register early for classes, meet professors and tour residences.  Check the poster outside Student Services.
