1. 2018 Extra Mile Awards

Nominate a school staff person (i.e. teacher, education / admin assistant, custodian) for the

PEI Home and School Federation’s Extra Mile Award. Submission deadline is: January 12,

2. Resolutions: Affecting Change in PEI’s Education System

Resolutions submission deadline is January 31, 2018 for issues to be considered at the 65th Annual Meeting & Convention on April 8th, 2018. Assistance with writing resolutions is available. Contact the Federation office at (902) 620-3186 / 1-800-916-0664 / peihsf@edu.pe.ca

3. 2018 Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week

Teacher-Staff Appreciation Week will be celebrated February 12 – 16, 2018. Home and schools are encouraged to find ways of saying thank you to all staff members for the contributions they make to the lives of our children during this week.

4. President’s Reports

Presidents of Home and School Associations are asked to submit a one page annual report outlining your local Home and School Association’s activities for the 2017-2018 school year. These reports are inserted into the Annual Book of Reports. If you have questions and/or need assistance, contact the Federation office at: 620-3186 / 1-800-916-0664. Please send your report to us at: peihsf@edu.pe.ca by February 28, 2018.

5. Save the date for Annual Meeting & Convention

The P.E.I. Home and School Federation will hold its 65th Annual Meeting & Convention on Saturday, April 14, 2018. All Home and Schoolers are invited to attend with each association asked to designate five attendees as your school’s voting delegates. You are encouraged to include teachers, administrators and staff as delegates.

Athletics:

  • Come get your last GrayFit workouts of 2017 in today after school. This week we will be doing our version of “The Reindeer Games” Don’t Miss Out!

  • Debate Club in the Lecture Theatre today at lunch. All are welcome!

  • If you did not pick up your clothing order yesterday, you can do so in Room 213 from 12:00-12:30.
  • Come to space disco at lunch today, this week’s theme is “Christmas”!
  • Reminder Tidy up time!

Athletics:

  • Come get your last GrayFit workouts of 2017 in today and Thursday after school. This week we will be doing our version of “The Reindeer Games” Don’t Miss Out!

Band:

  • Senior Jazz Band will rehearse Thursday morning at 7:45am.

Meetings:

  • Debate Club in the Lecture Theatre tomorrow at lunch. All are welcome!

Notices:

  • Did you lose your 2017 Men’s Volleyball hoodie? Please come to the main office to pick it up.
  • Reminder!!Ugly Christmas sweater day is tomorrow! Sweater contest on the stage at lunch, mystery prize goes to the winner!
  • The clothing order is in and will be distributed today only. If you ordered clothing WITHOUT names on the back or shoulder, you can pick it up in the lobby at lunch. If you ordered clothing WITH names on the back or shoulder, get it after school from 3:10 – 3:30.
  • Last day of candy sales in the lobby today from Key Club, all proceeds go to the soup kitchen!
  • Come to space disco this Friday in Mr. MacEwen’s room, this week’s theme is Christmas!

  • Key club is selling bag of candies in the lobby on today and Wednesday this week to raise money for the Upper Room Soup Kitchen.

Notices:

Band:

  • We are pleased to announce that music students will received 7$ of credit toward each wreath they sold.  Great job team!
  • Students must confirm their craft fair hours, as well as number of fudge pans with Mr. Fitz or Mr. Doiron.  This needs to be finished no later than this Friday at lunch.
  • After this, all band students are encouraged to go see Mr. Doiron and he will give you your total money raised this semester.  Thanks for all of your hard work.

Meetings:

  • Making Waves will be having a quick 10 minute meeting in room 210 at 11:40

Notices:

  • Ms. Lecours forgot to thank this morning the staff who came in to chaperone the dance last night, we could not have done this with you, sorry for the oversight.
  • Come to space disco this Friday in room 244. This week’s theme is “Colors”

Athletics:

  • There will be a meeting today for all girls interested in playing rugby this spring in Room 216 at the beginning of lunch.
  • All AA Mens basketball team members please meet in Mr. Heggie’s classroom, room 208, at lunch for a quick meeting

Band:

Athletics:

  • Last night in Colonels Basketball action Gray1 men and women defeated Montague at home, while the Gray2 men won against TOSH on the road.
  • A reminder to check our Gray Athletics Twitter account for cancellations due to weather.

Band:

  • Both grade 10 classes will go to the band room between 12:25 and 1:40pm today for rehearsal.
  • Senior jazz band will rehearse today at 12:00 noon.
  • Grade 11 & 12 band will rehearse Wednesday morning at 7:45am.

Meetings:

  • Here ye, here ye – all Flatearthians gather flat and listen. The innaugural meeting of the Flat Earth Society will be held sometime in a secret location. For more information approach Mr. B with the secret password and the details will be revealed. Good luck.

Notices:

  • Make sure to get your Winter Formal tickets $5 for student and $7 for your guest today and tomorrow from your block A teacher. If you do not have a block A, you can get your ticket during lunch in the main office.
