  • Monday is going to be “twin day” with free pizza for the best twins. We will be bobbing for apples at lunch,  and prizes to be won for bobbing for apples.
  • If you are interested in being the Free the Children secretary please see Ms. Sheppard in the Art room.
  • Reminder to stop by the cafeteria at lunch to help set the World Record for most names on a flag by simply signing your name.
  • Good luck to our cross-country team heading to Maine for the Festival of Champions this weekend.
  • The “A” girls soccer game that was scheduled for today has been rescheduled to next Wednesday, October 4th.
  • The “A” boys will still host Morell at 4:30 here at the school.
  • Come to space disco today in room 244 at lunch with your Britney inspired outfits!
  • Monday there will be an important meeting of all members of the Colonel Gray Senior Jazz Band. The meeting will take place at noon in the band room.

  • Debate club will meet for the first time today in the lecture theater at 12:00, new members encouraged to attend!
  • The Mumbo Jumbo Street Slang Gang will meet today at 11:45 in Room 215. All new poets, rappers, and performers are encouraged to attend.
  • “A” girls soccer practice is cancelled for today, girls need to be at the field for 4:15 tomorrow to warm up for the game.
  • There will be a short mandatory baseball meeting tomorrow (Friday) at 11:40 in room 216.  All members of the baseball team must attend.  If you can’t make it, please see Mr. Gregory as soon as possible.
  • Last night was a big one in athletics with five of our teams bringing home wins from the road.
    AAA men’s soccer defeated Bluefield 2-1, with Roan Sangemang & Tegan Misener scoring for the Colonels. The AAA womens soccer team won 2-0, with Jenna Frizzell and Phoebe Mitchell scoring.
  • Our men and women’s volleyball teams defeated Montague in three straight sets. Field hockey won 1-0, also against Motnague, with Sydney Sear scoring and Tessa Hood with the shut out. It was a big game, with no subs.
    Great job Colonels!
  • Reminder to all staff interested in helping with the Wall of Fame Cup, there will be a committee meeting in Room 144 today after school at 3:30.
  • Come to Space Disco Club in room 244 tomorrow. This weeks theme is Britney! Hope to see you there!
  • Next week is spirit week, keep an eye out for posters around the school explaining the events.

  • Canadian Blood Services will be in the front lobby to at lunch. If you are 17 or older you can have your blood typed or sign up for a blood donation appointment at another time. If you have any questions see Mrs. Costello in room 144.
  • Congratulations to The Colonel Gray golfers who had a great day at Fox Meadow yesterday. The Girls team was the top female team, Julie Hall had the top female score and Jack Day had the best score of the day of any golfer at 75.  Best of luck in the upcoming provincials.

School pictures will be taken Wednesday September 27th and Thursday September 28th by Lifetouch.   Even if students do not plan on purchasing a photo package, they need to have their photo taken for their student ID.

  • Grade 12 students interested in applying for the Loran Scholarship should come to Student Services at 11:45 on Tuesday, Sept. 26 for an information meeting. The deadline for this scholarship is Oct. 6th.
  • Big thanks to all the staff and students who went in our Run this past Friday. Every dollar that was raised will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation in memory of Lisa Rogerson, a graduate of our school in 2016. With her mom, family and friends looking on, our school had one of the biggest turn out ever.  It was amazing to see students, from China, Napal. P.E.I., Africa, Iran, etc, all walking together to honour Terry and Lisa and raise money for Cancer Research.
  • Golf team is reminded to bring their golf clubs for their game tomorrow afternoon.
  • Men and Women’s volleyball host Westisle today, both games at 5 pm. We still need two scorekeepers for these games, please see Mrs Lindsay as soon as possible if you’re able to fill those shifts.
  • Women’s field hockey plays Bluefield on the Cornwall turf at 3:40.
  • Reminder that the A men’s soccer game scheduled for today has been re-scheduled.
  • Grade 10 band will rehearse Tuesday morning.
    Grade 11/12 band will rehearse Wednesday and Thursday morning.

  • Final Terry Fox Committee Meeting today in room 139 at 11:40 .  All members must attend.
  • Terry Fox fact Of The Day – “There are 14 schools and over 15 roads in Canada named after Terry. Also, he is the youngest person to ever receive the Order of Canada.”
  • There is a mandatory baseball meeting in room 216 at the beginning of lunch today.  Jerseys will be handed out for tonight’s game during the meeting.
  • Good luck to men’s volleyball traveling to Truro today for the CEC tournament.
  • All athletics permission forms should be in to the Phys Ed department at this time. If you have not brought your form in, you will not be able to play in the next game.
  • Men’s Baseball kick off their season this weekend with an 8 pm game tonight at Memorial Field against Charlottetown Rural, and two games tomorrow in Morell. Colonel Gray will play Souris/Morell at 1230, and TOSH at 230.
  • Girls field hockey tied TOSH 1-1 last night

  • Any students who are interested in a career with the RCMP and would like to experience RCMP training firsthand should come to a meeting in Student Services today (Thursday) at 11:45. See Mrs. McCabe for details.
  • There is new music for the Gr. 11/12 concert band, and new music for the senior jazz band.  Please pick up music from Mr. Fitz.  Also, rehearsal for both bands will begin next week.  Stay tuned for more details.
  • Are you interested in rap, poetry, or performance? If so, the Mumbo Jumbo Street Slang Gang meets today at 11:45 in Room 215. All new rapper and poets are encouraged to attend!

  • “AAA” men’s soccer tied Montague 0-0 last night while the “A” girls lost to Rural 5-0. Women’s field hockey travels to TOSH today, the bus will leave at 3:45.
  • “AAA” soccer practices will be at the school today, while “A” men will be practicing at Co-op field at 3:45.   Students are reminded to get permission forms and fees in asap.
  • Don’t forget to come to the Space Disco Club at lunch tomorrow in room 244. This weeks theme is C.L.O.U.T, clout hope to see you there!
  • No Terry Fox Meeting Today.  Final Meeting Tomorrow at 11:40.  All Members of Committee must attend.
  • Anima will be held today at 11:40 in room 101 today.  This drawing club will run each Wednesday and Thursday each week.

  • This year’s first Gray Fit class will be this Thursday at 3:30 in the wellness Centre.  Until the end of October classes will run on Thursdays only.

Meet the teacher night will be held on Thursday, Sept 21st, at 7:00 PM.  Upon arrival, parents are asked to proceed to the cafeteria for a message from school administration.

From the cafeteria,  parents will be asked to proceed to their son or daughters block A homeroom class.  Please bring a copy of your son or daughters schedule to reduce confusion.
