  • Today over 50 Colonel Gray students will be participating in the Cayley and Fermat Math Contests. The contest happens at 12:30 pm in the library. Please bring a calculator and a pencil.
  • St. Thomas University representatives will be in Student Services over lunch.
  • A reminder to students that tobacco products and other products that imitate cigarettes (like vaping) are not allowed in  or on school property.  This is a policy from the PSB that we are required to enforce in the school and consequences will follow.  The cooperation from the student body is much appreciated.
  • Reminder for Graduates:  Did you miss your grad photos?  Even if you do not wish to purchase your own pictures, please book your appointment at the library for today or Wednesday so you can be on the class composite!  Last chance for retakes as well.  Please book!
  • Colonel Gray’s Variety Show will take place Wednesday, March 15th from 7 – 9.  The show will have a live art battle and a variety of wacky, wonderful, and wild performances.   We are looking for all types of talent such as:  juggling, yodelling, yo-yoing, and beat-boxing.   Sign up on the Lecture Theatre door by this Friday and auditions will be held early next week.
  • Basketball practices today: AA M 5-6:30, AAA M 6-730, AAA W 730-9.
  • In Dodge ball today: Stupendous Math Students vs Staff    10’s Only vs Ducks.
  • Last night in quarter final action our AAA women defeated Souris 50-25. The girls will play Rural in the semi-finals on Thursday, time TBA. Our AA men defeated Bluefield 74-35 and will play in the AA semi-finals tomorrow at 5:30, Francois Buote. Location and time TBA. Unfortunately the AA girls lost to Kinkora last night, and have completed their season. Thank you to coaches Abby Kinch and Jenna Deighan for their time this season!

  • UPEI will have an information session today at lunch in Room 139.  Students can attend and have their questions answered.
  • On Tuesday, Feb. 28th over 50 Colonel Gray students will be participating in the Cayley and Fermat Math Contests. The contest happens at 12:30 pm in the library. Please bring a calculator and a pencil.
  • We will be selling cupcakes today in the main lobby at lunch in support of the PEI Human Society.
  • It’s a busy week in Athletics with basketball play-offs kicking off today Quarter-finals tonight will see our AAA women hosting Souris @ 5:30, and our AA men hosting Bluefield at 7:30. Our AA women are at Kinkora for a 5 pm start. AAA men finished first so have a bye to the semi-finals on Thursday.

  • Dodgeball: Who’s Yer Fadder vs Duck.
  • YOGA is back today after school in the wellness room. This will be a restorative yin style class, so bring a blanket & some cozy socks! 3:30-4:30.

  • On Tuesday, Feb. 28th over 50 Colonel Gray students will be participating in the Cayley and Fermat Math Contests. The contest happens at 12:30 pm in the library. Please bring a calculator and a pencil.
  • Colonel Gray’s will be hosting an epic variety show on Wednesday, March 15th – that’s just before March Break.  We are looking for different acts than the typical variety show!  Auditions will be held in the coming weeks, so please see Mr. Berzins or Mr. B for more information.
  • Little Big Band today at 12 noon sharp, and Monday morning.
  • We will be selling cupcakes on Monday in the lobby at lunch in support of the Humane Society.
  • 1/4 Final match ups for Monday will see the AAA women hosting Souris at 5:30, the AA men hosting Bluefield at 7:30, and the AA women heading to Kinkora. Our AAA men finished first so will receive a bye to the semi-finals.
  • There will be yoga after school in the wellness center for all those interested. 330-400.
  • Dodge ball today: Stupendous Math Students vs Seafood Chowder,    10’s Only vs Bucks.

  • Dodgeball today: Gamblers vs Titans, Who’s Yer Fadder vs Marlins.
  • Last night our AA teams defeated Francois Buote. The boys won 66-63 in an exciting overtime win, and the girls won 22-21. The AAA girls won against Souris on the road 57-38.
  • Any girls interested in playing in the high school hockey tournament this year please see Ms Currie or Mr Brazil ASAP.
  • St. Thomas University will be in Student Services on Feb 28 at noon.  They will be doing on the spot admissions at this time.

  • KEY Club will be holding a CAKE AUCTION in the cafeteria on Thursday. All proceeds will go to Heart & Stroke. Come on out, Buy a cake, Support a good cause.
  • If you were wanting to have GRAD RE-take pictures taken, Lifetouch photography will be here the last week of February-first of March.  You must book your sitting time with Mrs. Profit in the library.

  • Today in dodge ball: Seafood Chowder vs Staff,   Bucks vs Ducks.
  • Last night our AAA basketball teams split with Charlottetown Rural. The girls lost 61-27 while the boys won 85-82.
    AA men lost a close one on the road against KISH 54-44.
  • Today sees our AAA girls heading to Souris for a 6:30 game. The bus will leave from the front of the school at 4:45.
    Our AA teams host Francois Buote, with the boys at 5:30 and the girls at 7:30.
  • If you’re interested in helping out with the Rural vs Gray events sign up on the student council office door.
  • UPEI will be here on Monday, February 27 to talk to potential students who plan on attending UPEI in the fall.

  • Anyone interested in becoming a Stage Crew Member for the Little Mermaid, please attend the meeting with Miss Kennedy in room 238 at 11:45 on today.
  • The Mumbo Jumbo Street Slang Gang will be meeting today in Room 215 at 11:45.  All interested poets, actors, performers, and writers are encouraged to attend!  We’d like to see as many new faces as possible!
  • Today in Dodgeball: Randy’s Burger Bandits vs the Stupendous Math Students, Vikings vs 10’s Only.
  • Our AAA basketball teams face off against Rural tonight, with the women playing at 5:30 and the men at 7:30 at Charlottetown Rural. The AA men travel to Kensington to play at 6.
  • Badminton this week: Thursday 7-8:30am, Friday 7-8:30am and SUnday 4:30-6:30pm.
  • Could Tessa Hood and Grace Freeman please see Mrs Lindsay before the end of the day today.
  • Any students who are planning on attending St. Thomas University in the fall and are interested in the Harrison McCain Scholarship should see Mr. Peterson in Student Services.
  • This Saturday Feb 25th Student Councils Rural vs Gray Nerf Battle  will be held at Colonel Gray. SIgn up sheets will be in the lobby! Don’t forget to sign up!
  • “Would you like to advise Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his cabinet on important issues here in PEI and across Canada? You have the opportunity to do just that this Thursday evening! Join the Prime Minister’s Youth Council to share your ideas and experiences on the topics of Mental Health, Climate Change, and Electoral Reform. You don’t need to be an expert on the topics or politics. Come on out and lead the change! Check the Colonel Gray Events Page for more information”.
  • A reminder to students who have been assigned lockers: If you are not using the lock, you risk the security of your items.  If you have forgotten your combination, see your home room teacher.  Lockers not properly closed will be locked and may be reassigned.  Finally, please remove food items and garbage from your school locker space each day!

  • A BIG Congrats to Cameron Gordon on being the 2017 Easter Seals Ambassador!!
  • Classes will be dismissed today at 3:00pm, please see your 3 year homeroom teacher to pick up your report card.
  • For some reason, not many students have submitted their transcript request forms. All universities and colleges to which you applied (or plan to apply in the next couple of weeks) will require final first semester results. Drop down to SS and get this done today, so you, too, will be part of the massive mail out to universities and colleges.
  • Yearbook meeting today after school.
  • Today in Dodgeball: Randys Burger Bandits vs Seafood Chowder        Vikings vs Bucks.
  • In basketball today the AA teams are on the road to Montague while the AAA teams are at Bluefield.

  • A number of universities will be hosting information sessions in the Charlottetown area next week. Feb. 13  UPEI will be here at lunch, and St. Francis Xavier at 6:30 p.m. at Hotel on Pownal. Feb. 14  Acadia University at lunch. Feb. 15  St. Mary’s University will be at Confederation Centre at 7 p.m.  Feb. 16  UNB Fredericton at lunch. Feb. 17  Mount Allison University will be at the school at lunch.
  • Would all students interested in writing the Canadian Computing Competition, please see Mrs. Lee in Room 140 today at 11:45 am for a brief meeting.
  • Anyone in the STRIVE program, please come to student services and pick up a form for the job fair sign up.
  • No badminton practice on Friday…back again Sunday from 10-12am.
  • Any grad 10 competitive badminton player who maybe interested in representing Colonel Gray are asked to come to the Library Conference room at lunch today for a short meeting.
  • Basketball teams scheduled to play tomorrow- any updates will be posted on the Gray Athletics twitter and facebook feeds. Our AAA men will host Halifax Grammar on Saturday at 12:30 pm.
