  • Last night in athletics our AA basketball teams lost on the road against Souris while our AA teams split at home against Three Oaks, with the boys bringing home the win.
  • Students interested in Holland College may want to attend the Campus Tour Day on Saturday, Feb. 4  from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Pre-registration is required at hollandcollege.com/campus-tour. On this one day, the normal $54 application fee will be waived.
  • Students who have applied, or planning to apply to universities and colleges should fill in a transcript request form in Student Services. You will want your first semester final marks to be part of the massive mail out in early February. Doing this now will ensure making the university/college application and scholarship deadlines. Drop down to Student Services now, or while exams are on, and fill in your transcript request form. Transcripts cost $2 each.
  • The cafeteria, gym and wellness room will all be closed during exams.

  • Congratulations to the grade 11 IB relay for life team for raising over $1500 for the Canadian Cancer Society!
  • Intramurals will take a break after today until February 2nd.
  • In athletics today our AA basketball teams are traveling to Souris, while our AAA teams are hosting Three Oaks. Women play at 5:30 and the men at 7:30. This game will be broadcasted live on Eastlink channel 10 or 610 on HD.
  • There will be yoga in the wellness center today from 330-430, so it will be closed to all other students.
  • Today in dodge ball: Seafood Chowder vs The Gamblers, Bucks vs Who’s Yer Fadder.

  • Any grade 12 students interested in the Schulich Scholarship in science, technology, engineering or math should meet in Student Services today at 11:45.  See Mr. Peterson for details.
  • Today in dodge ball- Randy’s Burger Bandits vs Staff.
  • In basketball today: the AAA Men play at 530, the AAA Women play at 730
    Looking for one scorekeeper for the 530 game and one scorekeeper for the 730 game. Please see someone in the PE department if you’re able to help out.
  • All cast members of The Little Mermaid who have not yet had their measurements taken are reminded to go to room 209 at the beginning of lunch to do so.
  • The library is changed its policy and from now on will be food free.
  • During exams (January 25-31) the cafeteria will be closed…bring your lunch.

  • It was a busy night last night in basketball, with all four teams taking on Charlottetown Rural.
    The AAA teams split with the men winning 82-62 and the women losing 69-23.
    The AA teams lost two close ones, with the men losing 59-42 and the women losing 39-28.
     Today in dodge ball: Stupendous Math Students vs Titans……10’s Only vs Marlins.
  • Could Katia and Daria Hughes, Sam Peterson and Zach Thibodeau please see Mrs. Lindsay today at the beginning of lunch.
  • In celebration of Minor Hockey Week, tomorrow all students are encouraged to wear their hockey jerseys to school. Snap a photo wearing your jersey and share it on the Hockey PEI Facebook page for a chance to win an autographed Team Canada jersey from the recent World Junior Championship!
  • There will be a short meeting for Little Big Band on Friday at 1140.
  • Selling yearbooks today and tomorrow at lunch in the cafeteria for $35.

  • Parks Canada is recruiting summer workers.  Staff will be visiting Colonel Gray, at lunch time, on Thursday, January 19th to provide information on summer jobs available at the PEI National Park and Historic Sites. There are a variety of bilingual and English positions available, including  Park Communicators, Heritage Communicators, Janitorial Students and Student Field Technicians. Come to Student Services at lunch on Thursday for more information.
  • Could all basketball score keepers please see Mrs Lindsay today at lunch? Due to rescheduled games there are some for this month and next that aren’t covered.
     Today in the Speed ball championships we will have: The Police vs the Two Time Defending Champs
     Dodgeball starts tomorrow!
     First game will be the Stupendous Math Students vs the Titans, second game will be 10’s Only vs the Marlins.
  • All four basketball teams play today, with the AA men and women traveling to Rural and the AAA men and women hosting Rural. Men at 5, women at 7.

CGHS School Review Parent Meeting Feb 1, 7:00 PM

Review of Colonel Gray Family of Schools:  Meeting on Wednesday, February 1 at 7:00pm in the Colonel Gray gymnasium.The tabling and presentation of Category II School Change recommendations for the six families of schools has created the opportunity for all of us to discuss and analyze the specific options for change in greater detail.

The recommendations that apply to the Colonel Gray Family of Schools are available at www.princeedwardisland.ca/betterlearningforall and on the PSB website. Online comments may also be provided over the next 60 days, and our public meeting is on February 1, 7 p.m., in the Colonel Gray High School gymnasium.

Parent Meeting – Graduation Dance and Safe Grad Jan 25th, 7:00PM

Call to parents of grade 11 and 12 students: Meeting regarding the Graduation Dance and Safe Grad.  
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 25 at 7:00pm, in the Lecture Theater.  Last year, 2 groups of parents were formed to organize the graduation dance (prom) and the Safe Grad activities.  Parents of grade 11 students are invited as well in the hope of building some continuity from year to year.

Today in intramurals will see the Speedballers vs Praying Mantis at high noon. This is the last round robin game, semi-finals will begin tomorrow so make sure to listen to the announcements to know when you play.
We’re still looking for one more dodgeball team to even out our tournament. Please submit your roster to the PE department as soon as possible.
Have you ever wanted to try yoga but were too intimidated to go to a studio? Today after school in the wellness center there will be an Intro to Yoga class that will introduce you to some foundational postures. This will be a great class for those new to yoga and for those who want to improve their practice. Class will run from 330-430.
Our AAA basketball teams host Bluefield this evening, with the women playing at 5 and the men at 7.
All scorekeepers who signed up to scorekeep for the month of January, please check the schedule in Mrs Lindsay’s office to make sure you know when you’re working.
Math Contests sign up continues this week. Ask your math teacher about the upcoming Grade 10 and 11 contests… if you are not taking math right now and would like to compete, please see Ms. Lee in Room 140.
Key Club meeting today at lunch. All members are asked to attend.
