  • Reminder there will be no cafeteria services on tomorrow, please bring your lunch or make other arrangements for that day.
  • Anyone in Grades 10 – 12, interested in participating in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Youth Volunteer Program, should check the bulletin board outside Mr. Cox’s office in Student Services.  Training runs for nine weeks over the summer.
  • Volunteer hours for the Community Service Bursary may be earned through this program, as soon as the student completes Grade 10 –  up until June 30 of their grade 12 year (maximum of 2 years).
  • Badminton Schedule for Christmas Holidays – Dec. 26-31st…Monday, Tuesday and Saturday – 12-2:00  and Friday 6-8:00
  • Cafeteria Specials today:  Chicken Burger, Hamburger or 3 Cheese Pizza  all with Fries for $5.25.
  • Reminder to students, there will be no cafeteria services tomorrow. Make sure you bring your own lunch and snacks.

  • Chess Club today at lunch in the library.
  • OHS Fun Fact#7 Any hazardous material must have labels that follow Federal and Provincial Regulations.
  • Speed ball today: 1st game: Marlins vs Two Time Defending Champs, 2nd game: Sammy P vs Two Time Defending Champs.
  • Last night our AA basketball teams split against Kinkora, with the boys winning a close game of 51-49, and the girls losing 40-30.
  • Yearbook meeting after school today.
  • A reminder to cast of The Little Mermaid to pick up their script from Mr. Jabbour…bring a 3 ring binder.
  • No band practice tomorrow or Thursday. Chocolate sale in the band room at lunch…good deals!!
  • There will be no cafeteria services on Thursday, December 22.  Please bring your lunch  or make other arrangements for that day.

  • For all cast members of “The Little Mermaid” the musical: reminder of the meeting after school today from 3:30 – 6:00 in the band room.  Please remember to bring a binder, and please be early if you can so we can start on time.  See Mr. Petrie today if you can’t make it.
  • Intramural schedule for today is the games that were scheduled for Friday.
    There was a gold ring found in the gym, if you think this is yours, please see Mrs Lindsay.
  • Men & Women’s AA basketball travel to Kinkora today, bus leaves at 3:45 from the front of the school.
  • Tonight at 6:30 in the cafeteria will be movie night, we’ll be showing “How the Grinch stole Christmas” and “Home Alone”.
  • There will be no cafeteria services on Thursday, December 22.  Please bring your lunch or make other arrangements for that day.
  • Occupational Health & Safety fun fact#5: Work places with 5-19 regularly employed workers must have a safety representative.

  • All students who are performing at the Receiver Coffee House this evening at 7:00 are asked to listen for cancellation announcements on CBC Radio.
  • Any Grade 11 or 12 students looking for a volunteer opportunity counting towards their Community Service Bursary, should check the bulletin board in Student Services (outside Mr. Cox’s office) for information about several possibilities at Whisperwood Villa.
  • Due to the Christmas dinner today, the gym will be closed at lunchtime.
  • Last night in basketball action both our AA teams defeated Bluefield. The girls won 35-29, with Emma Collicut, Gabbii Lewis & Suado Yusef as high scorers. The boys finished with a score of 59-53, high scorers were Keir Warren, Andrew Killorn & Faris Zakem.
  •  Our AA boys will take on Rural at home tonight at 7pm. Come on out and support the Colonels!
  • For the entire cast of “The Little Mermaid”: we will have a read through of the script on Monday, December 19 from 3:30-6:00 in the band room.  All cast members are expected to attend.  If you can’t attend, you must see Mr. Petrie before Monday.

  • Making Waves Trivia Winners…Dustin Ellis, Anne Marie Hutchings and Harley Rogers.
  • Because of Christmas dinner tomorrow, the teams scheduled to play speedball tomorrow at lunch will play their games today at noon in the gym. 12:15 Two Time Defending Champs vs The Police 12:40 Sammy P vs Speedballers
  • AA men and women host Bluefield tonight. Girls at 5:30, boys at 7:30.

  • Today is the last day to buy a dance ticket for a guest.  Remember that your guest must be a student currently attending high school and must provide a piece of ID before he/she comes in. Reminder, if you do not have a block B teacher please see Ms. Fleming tomorrow at lunch for your ticket.
  • Reminder of the Christmas concert tonight at 7:00pm in the gym.

  • Christmas concert will be held tomorrow evening at 7pm in the gym,
  • Due to the pending weather forecast, the Public Schools Branch has cancelled all after school activities…..so the movie night schedule for night is cancelled.
  • Reminder to purchase your Winter Formal tickets from your block B teacher, $5 for students and $7 per guest. If you do not have a block B teacher please see Ms. Fleming at lunch.
  • For the next 2 weeks listen up for some occupational health & safety facts! Today’s fact of the day is #1 workers have the right to refuse.
  • Cafeteria specials today are sheppards pie with caesar salad, chicken nuggets & wedges or 3 cheese pizza & wedges $5.25

  • The grade 11 IB Relay for life team is holding a bake sale today at lunch in the main lobby. Come with your change to buy a treat! All proceeds go to the Canadian Cancer Society.
  • Be sure to buy your Winter Formal tickets from your block B teacher $5 for students and $7 for your guest. Tickets will be on sale till Tuesday December 13th.
  • Cafeteria specials today are bacon cheeseburger with wedges BBQ chicken pizza with wedges $5.25.
  • Teachers, today is a supervision day 3.
  • BUS PASS INFORMATION Students are reminded that the school bus system is not a transit system for students who work after school or go to the gym.
  • Students are also reminded that they are only permitted to ride the bus to which they have been assigned.

    You MAY be permitted to ride on another bus if you obtain a bus transfer.

    To obtain a bus transfer, you must bring a note from a parent by 12 noon for the day you wish to transfer. Phone calls, e-mail messages and text messages will not be accepted. You must have a signed note from a parent.

    Bus transfers WILL NOT be given for buses 12, 93, and 190.

    The bus driver reserves the right to refuse the transfer if the bus is crowded.

    All bus drivers have been informed that they are not to accept students, who do not regularly ride on their buses, without a bus transfer pass.

    If you have any questions or concerns, please see Mr. Cole in the Main Office.

  • Be sure to buy your winter formal tickets from your block B teacher. $5 for students and $7 for your guest. Tickets will be on sale till Tuesday December 13th.
  • Grade 11&12 band tomorrow morning instead of senior jazz , senior jazz at lunch today and tomorrow.
