  • This weekend the cross country team will head to the Maine Festival of Champions to compete against over 1900 athletes from Eastern North America. The women’s volleyball team is heading to Truro for the CEC Cougar Classic. Good luck and safe travels to both teams.
    It has been brought to the PE department’s attention that the boys change room has been left in an awful condition by the end of the day. Absolutely no food is allowed in the gym or in the locker rooms. Because of this behavior, the gym will be closed at lunch today.
  • Intramural soccer sign up is starting today in the gym, everyone is welcome.
  • There will be a meeting for All members of Free the Children this Monday, October 3rd after school in the cafeteria. Make sure to come if you are interested in the Haunted Basement.
  • Welcoming Committee is putting a super smash bros tournament next week! There’s a sign up sheet on the door of room 238.
  • Boys “A” soccer practice is canceled for today.
  • Cafeteria specials today are bacon cheeseburger & fries $5.25 or BBQ pulled pork pizza & fries $5.10.

  • Making Waves Group is meeting today at 11:45 in room 202.
  • There will be a meeting for ALL members of Free the Children this Monday, October 3rd after school in the cafeteria. Make sure to come if you are interested in the Haunted Basement.
  • Reminder of meeting today for all girls interested in playing AA or AAA basketball this year. Meeting is at the start of lunch in room 214.
  • In athletics last night our men and women’s volleyball teams fell to three oaks in three sets, and our” “A women’s soccer team lost 1-0 in a close game. Women’s field hockey were defeated 2-1 by Bluefield.
     Our AAA men’s soccer defeated Three Oaks 1-0, while our “A” men’s soccer team won their game against Francois Buote 3-1, thank you to Mr. Peterson & Mrs. McCabe for coaching the boys. Men’s baseball finished there regular season undefeated with a 13-9 win over Westisle and will advance to semi-finals next Tuesday.
     Women’s volleyball team members are reminded that all tournament permission forms MUST be in by tomorrow morning at the latest if you wish to travel to CEC. No exceptions.
    Lauren Moerike please see Mrs Lindsay at some point before the end of the day.
  • Yoga Club today, Rm 101 at 11:45, bring your friends, your lunch, yourself.
  • Cafeteria specials today are pulled pork on a kaiser with rice $5.25 or pepperoni pizza & fries $5.10.

  • There will be a short meeting for those students interested in participating in Youth Parliament at 11:45 on Wednesday in Mr MacAdam’s room 116.
  • Mens AAA soccer will host Three Oaks today at 5 pm
    Lots of teams on the road as we have: Mens A soccer will play Francois Buote @ East Royalty at 5pm
    Women’s A soccer, as well as men and womens volleyball travel to Summerside
    Field hockey will play Bluefield at the Cornwall turf at 4pm.
  • Any athletes who have not paid their school athletic fees or passed in permission forms are reminded that they need to do so as soon as possible.
  • An Island business is looking at designing a new logo for their company.  A contest is now open for any students with an artistic or designer streak.  Join the competition by visiting www.kioha.com/contest.
  • There will be an important meeting on Thursday at start of lunch in room 214 for any girls wanting to play AA or AAA basketball this year.
  • Jr Achievement will be set up in the cafeteria on Thursday and Friday at lunch time.  They are looking at recruiting students for programs.  Drop by and learn all about what they have to offer.
  • There will be a meeting for all guides and room leaders of this year’s Haunted Basement tomorrow after school in room 120.
  • Mandatory “A” men’s soccer meeting at the start of lunch today in the gym.
  • Anyone interested in applying for the Loran Scholarship should meet with Mr. Peterson today in Student Services at 12:15.
    Cafeteria specials today are chicken fajitas with Mexican rice $5.25 or 3 cheese pizza & fries $5.10

  • Another busy day in Colonels Athletics with our women’s field hockey hosting TOSH at the Cornwall Turf at 5pm. Men’s AAA soccer travels to Montague, A Men and Women soccer travel to Souris- both buses leaving at 3:45 from the front of the school. Men and women’s volleyball will host Westisle at 5:30.
    Any students interested in score-keeping or volleyball please see Mrs Lindsay immediately after this period.
  • Congratulations to the xcountry team for an outstanding performance at our own Battle at Brookvale race. Tori Fitzpatrick was 1st overall in the senior high division and Emma Germain was 4th. The girls finished 2nd overall as a team to JH Gillis from Antigonish, despite missing some key people. The boys were team champions led by Nick Robertson with a third-place finish, followed closely by Peter McQuaid. The rest of Colonel Gray’s counters included Thomas McQuaid, Samuel Peterson and Luke Maiorino. The team leaves for the Maine Festival of Champions on Friday morning to compete against over 1900 athletes from Eastern North America.
  • There will be an envirothon meeting today in room 139, all interested students are asked to attend or speak to Ms. Nowe to express their interest.
  • Grade 11&12 band on Wednesday at 7:40am.

Class of 2017 Parent Information Session

Parents of 2017 potential graduates are encouraged to attend an information session from 6:15 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday September 22nd.  Student services will be providing important information related to scholarships, bursaries, post-secondary studies, and graduation activities.
