  • Any graduating student who has not yet signed off on the name verification sheet with Mr. Whitrow is asked to come to the office today to verify their name is correct for their graduation diploma.
  • The Mumbo Jumbo Street Slang Gang meets today @ 11:45 in the Lecture Theatre.  This is a mandatory meeting for any student wishing to perform at the provincial poetry slam in late April.  All new rappers and poets are encouraged to attend.
  • There will be a welcoming committee meeting tomorrow in room 116. If you are interested in being on the Executive for next year please attend…there will lots to discuss!!
  • There will be a meeting in Mrs. Whalley’s room 235 at the beginning of lunch today for any students interested in trying out for the badminton team this year.  There will also be badminton tryouts today and tomorrow from 3:30 – 5:30 in the gym.
  • Boys and Girls Rugby practice are on the turf at UPEI 330-530.
  • Cafeteria specials today are Chicken pot pie & wedges, veggie pizza &wedges $5.10 or crispy club wrap $5.

Teachers, today is a supervision day 5.

Grade 9 Parent Registration Information Meeting – March 31st at 7:00pm

Parents of grade 9 students who are planning to attend Colonel Gray High School in September 2016 are invited to attend an information session at the Colonel Gray Lecture Theatre on Thursday, March 31st at 7:00pm.  Topics to be discussed include:

Senior Literacy Assessment – March 31, 2016

On March 31, 2016 all grade 10 students will participate in the Senior Literacy Assessment.  The test is completed is   completed  as a pilot of the test that will become a graduation requirement for students entering grade 10 in 2016.

The test is completed in an on-line environment.  The link below allows a student to practice the SLA test.  The test will have two parts.  Part 1 is completed in block A and Part 2 is completed in block C.  There will be more information available to students as the test day approaches.

Parent Information Meeting for Newcomers rescheduled to March 30, 2016

We had initially planned to host two information meetings for Newcomer Families with students entering grade 10 in 2016-2017.  The first meeting was to provide interpreters primarily for Chinese and Nepalese families and the second meeting was for all newcomer families.

As a result of bad weather and travel conditions, there will only be one meeting held on Wednesday, March 30, 2017, 7:00 P.M. at the Newcomers Association – Water Street, Charlottetown.

Classes end at 2:10 on Monday, March 29

Due to anticipated weather conditions, the classes will end 1 hour early at 2:10 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2016.  The buses will run transport students 1 hour earlier that normal.

  • Practice times for Rugby School Teams today: Boys Rugby 330, Girls Rugby 530.
  • There will be a chess club at 11:50 in the Library, all are welcome!
  • There will be space disco club in room 244 today at 11:50.
  • Badminton team tryouts start today 730-930 pm and will run the rest of the week, Wednesday 730-930 and Thursday-Friday 330-530.
  • Cafeteria specials today are Chicken fingers & wedges or pepperoni & cheese pizza & wedges $5.10.

Homeroom Period – 9:00 to 9:20

  • Distribute Progress Report Cards.
  • Distribute Registration and Planning Sheets that include the progress marks as well as the out-of-province credits. Students can take their Registration and Planning sheet home to use as a reference.  They can also write in their course choices so there is a paper copy of their choices.
  • Confirm that all students have logged in to myBlueprint and are comfortable with the process of entering in their course choices for 2016-2017.
  • Distribute School Cash statements. These are to be stapled to the Progress Reports.  Please make the point to students that all fees need to be paid now and must be paid prior to the end of the school year.  Grads must have a $0 balance before they are fitted for their grad gown.  Students should be encouraged to use the on-line payment option that links to our website or they can pay in the main office.

WE Day in Montreal

Thirteen members from Colonel Gray’s Free the Children group were selected for an all-expenses paid trip, courtesy of West Jet, to celebrate Montreal’s WE Day – Free the Children’s stadium-sized youth empowerment and educational event.
