SHAPES 2015 Col Gray_parent_information_letter

To Parents of Colonel Gray students,

Our school has chosen to take part in the 2014-2015 School Health Action Planning and Evaluation System – Prince Edward Island (SHAPES-PEI) survey. SHAPES-PEI asks students questions physical activity, healthy eating, mental fitness, bullying, tobacco use, and alcohol and drug use and abuse. Since 2008, this ongoing study has been implemented by the Comprehensive School Health Research Group at UPEI, with support from the PEI Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and the PEI Department of Health and Wellness.

On April 1, 2015, Colonel Gray students, with parental permission, or who are of legal age to consent to research, will take part in the survey. The school will receive customized, school-specific results that can be shared with members of the school community.

Please visit the Colonel Gray website http://www.colonelgray.com/ to read the parent information letter. If you do NOT want your child or children to complete a SHAPES-PEI survey, or if you have any questions about the survey, please contact Melissa Munro-Bernard by phone at 1-888-297-8333 by March 31, 2015.
If you leave a phone message, please include:
• Student’s name
• Student’s grade
• Student’s teacher’s name
• Student’s school

Transportation to Colonel Gray – March 26, 2015

Posted on: March 25th, 2015 by kdwhitrow

To Colonel Gray Parents and Students,

Colonel Gray busses will run their usual routes on Thursday, March 25, 2015.  Students who live in the Windsor Heights Subdividion (Essex, Nanak, Devonshire, Chancellor and Kingsburgh) will have to walk out to the end of the subdivision to wait for the bus or have the parents drive them to school.  There will also be no bussing available for Browns Crt.

The staff parking lot on the north side of the school is not a student drop off or pick up location.  With the large banks in the lot it is important that parent and student vehicles do not enter the lot.

Parking capacity in the student lot is also limited by snow banks.  Please avoid parking your car at the school until the snow melts.

Spring Park Road has been cleared to the width of the sidewalks in front of the school.  The bus lane can be used for drop off but busses have priority.  Most of the busses will have picked departed for their route home by 3:30 p.m.  If it is possible to arrange to pick up your student after 3:30 p.m. the bus lane will be free.

Thank you,

Kevin Whitrow
